She was speaking during a recent Simuka Africa outreach programme in Norton where she was joined by musicians Diana Samkange and Mudiwa.

“People think that celebrities don’t care about the community, yet they do, this is a noble cause that’s why I chose to be part of it,” she said.

“Those who can afford to share with the community should try to do so more often because we have a lot of people who are going hungry.”

“Let us not wait for foreigners to help our people, young celebrities like those in Dancehall and hip-hop should also pull resources together and start assisting those close to their communities

Mrs Mtukudzi thanked Nikhil Saini and Ajchida Dayiki the founders of New Africa Food Alliance Group (NAFA) for their generous donation.

NAFA donated 1000kgs of rice, 200 unit of 375ml of cooking oil and 200 packets of 1kg salt, the foodstuff was shared between the orphanage and Norton residents.

Addressing some of the Kids at the orphanage Mrs Mtukudiz urged them to be good kids and not to steal from each other as this breeds a bad culture in the society.

The orphanage is run by Church on the Rock Ministries led by Doctor  Chikowa, who grew up without parents a situation which prompted him to start an orphanage.
