Socialite and businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure (36) is no more. He died after a head-on collision in the Borrowdale area around 5:20 am Sunday morning.
Reports suggest the socialite died after a head-on collision with a Honda Fit that saw him being thrown out of the vehicle before it hit a tree and burst into flames.
He died together with three other people, Karim, Moana, and Alisha.
Moana, who starred in Jah Prayzah’s Munyaradzi video – had just celebrated her 26th birthday at Ginimbi’s Dreams Night Club in Harare.

Ginimbi’s manager Ms Shally confirmed in a tweet: “I feel like hell, I don’t even know which words to even use, Genius Kadungure has been called by God, he is no more. He was in a terrible accident around 5am, he died on the spot with 3 of his friends in the car, Karim, Elisha and Moana – Ms Shally.
As Shoko Festival’s week-long digital offering kicks off the festival’s team have announced their second batch of headline acts.
This year, Zimbabwe’s longest-running urban festival will run from 21 to 27 September 2020 where all sessions and performances will be screened live onto Shoko Festival’s Facebook page and their website.
This year’s iteration, dubbed “The Phoenix Edition” has announced that Zimbabwean BET Awards Winner, Sha Sha will be headlining the festival.
The South Africa based multi-platinum songstress and “Queen of Amapiano” will be supported by Zim Hip Hop star Ti Gonzi who will be launching his new album “Best Mero Volume 2” live at the festival.
Despite the change in execution, Shoko Festival will still be presenting its signature events such as the Shoko Comedy Night, Mash Ups Night and their headline event Peace In The Hood.
This year’s Peace in The Hood will be headlined by Zim Dancehall stars Jah Master and Poptain as well as Zim Hip Hop’s new generation of stars R Peels, BlacPerl and Holy Ten.

The event will be hosted by the energy god, Dhadza D & the new kid on the block, Cody Rank Marshall.
Mash Up Nights will open with a set from Millz Million before hosting a Pungwe Sessions Live set with performances from Simba Tagz, Chengeto, Boss Pumacol, Sylent Nqo, ASAPH, and RayDizz.
As well a Women Faya Set featuring Anita Jaxson, Sibo and Natasha Muz. Mash Up Nights will then culminate in the performances from the headline acts Ti Gonzi and Sha Sha on Saturday the 26th of September.
Shoko’s Comedy Night will once again fall on a Friday and will be headlined by veteran comedian, Doc Vikela, and social media comedy star Ray Vines.
The night of laughs will be accentuated by The Bang Bang Comedy Show featuring Alfred Kainga (USA), Munya, Tinaye Wayne, King Kandoro, Mr Lorraine, Maritawana and Kadem.
As part of the festival’s digital transformation, this iteration will present an experimental live Sungura Tv show hosted by the Monkey Nuts titled Mvenge Mvenge 2.0.
The special offering will feature presentations by Probeatz, Dumi Right (USA), Synik,MotoMzhinji and Brother Matabele. Mvenge Mvenge 2.0 will be presented on the 23rd of September and will be hosted by Energydokta
A full program of the events slated for the festival is available on the Festival’s website. Other programming features will include the Battle of the Cities Poetry Slam (Monday 21 September) with special guest poet from Zambia Van Van and Simuka’s Top Comedian competition (22 September).
Shoko Festival will also offer a weeklong digital media conference titled The Hub Unconference that will host a number of diverse panels such as The Mayor’s Forum featuring Mayors from Kwekwe, Masvingo, Mutare and Chitungwiza,
The Video Indaba, the Africa Satire Convention, Zim Hip Hop Masterclasses, the second iteration of the Women Create Worlds panel and, many more panels that will be hosted by both local and international delegates.

Zimbabwe’s longest-running urban culture festival – Shoko Festival has announced that its 10th edition running from the 21st to 27th September 2020 will feature some of its most innovative and unique programming to date.
This year’s edition, dubbed “The Phoenix Edition” will feature a completely digital implementation with live sets streamed from both Harare and Bulawayo for all 7 days.
Shoko 2020 will feature performances from popular urban acts including Poptain, Jah Master, Ray Vines, Natasha Muz, Anita Jaxson, Pro Beatz, and many more local acts. The festival will also release the name of its surprise international act soon.
This year’s edition of Shoko Festival will see a mixture of new and old formats as we optimise the experience for the streaming audience on Facebook and other online platforms.
Digital attendees can expect amazing live performances, Peace In The Hood, Mash Ups Night, The Bang Bang Comedy Show, a Digital Poetry Slam, a Top Comedian Battle, #DigitalMediaWeek hosted by The Hub Unconference, a #ZimbabweanLivesMatter cypher and the Voice2Rep competition amongst many other scheduled presentations.

By recognizing these young people, JCI Zimbabwe raises the status of socially responsible leaders in this nation.
The honorees motivate their peers to seek excellence and serve others. Their stories of discovery, determination and ingenuity inspire young people to be better leaders and create better societies.

As the world grapples to find solutions on how to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, with some of the most apt medical facilities being overwhelmed and economies globally shrinking, what could be the answer?
It appears that only God can save the world.
This is the reality that dawned on me while watching the internationally renowned Ugandan Prophet, Elvis Mbonye’s Power of Prophecy which now streams every Sunday on ZBC at 2 PM CAT.
In one of his startling prophecies, he spoke of a time coming when the nations will consult from God on what ought to be done, following a prophecy concerning army choppers in flames en-route to Somalia, that was publicized in Uganda’s mainstream media long before it unfolded.
The unique thing about this is that, this man of God even sent word to the Ugandan army top brass cautioning them against sending choppers to Mogadishu because of the seriousness of the matter.
Predictably, his words were dismissed and, in August of that year, the consequences were on all front pages of the nation’s media.
Since then, intelligence officials have been known to covertly attend his weekly Tuesday Fellowship gatherings.

A quick check of his website reveals a startling record of accurately foretold events that span nations and individuals, all of which are disclosed before thousands and continue to make national and international headlines.
You will all agree that such an authentic prophetic voice is critical in moments of personal and national crisis and would benefit Zimbabwe which has also featured on more than one occasion in his prophecies.
Yet this is only a sneak peek into the wonder of the man of God who recently spread his ministry to Zimbabwe.
During his weekly Sunday programs on ZBC, Prophet Mbonye takes time to delve into the scriptures, while giving phenomenal insight into the power of prophecy and the role it plays in an individual’s life.
In the recent show dubbed “They are not of this world,” the prophet teaches on the interesting subject of revelation knowledge, with the sermon which was based on Matthew 16 vs 7 in which Jesus says to his disciple, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”
“You have heard things and then all of a sudden you can see. Do you know that someday it might dawn on you that you are not born of flesh and blood?
But you are born of the spirit and transcend everything that is flesh and natural and your life will be set apart. Separated from the rest of the world,” said Prophet Mbonye.
The prophet challenges the viewer to be conscious of the move of God when he speaks into their lives. Prophet Elvis Mbonye Ministries is a fellowship of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mbare born Zimbabwean talented crooner, David Machaka has been signed to Sheer Distributors and will on the 25th of August 2020 release his 12 track debut studio album titled ‘Kwachena’.
His rich concoction of African rich rhythms and superb vocals explains why the same distributors who once worked with international icons Oliver Mutukudzi and Hugh Masekela would choose to partner with David.
This is not a feat too peculiar as the seasoned instrumentalist draws experience from a background consisting of a musical big brother and multiple assignments on big stages as a backing vocalist to numerous established artists.
After securing management and consolidating efforts at ensuring a solid music career, the sky can not even stop David Machaka who already contributes to the music industry in Zimbabwe as a Music Teacher at Arundel Girls High School and St Georges College in Harare.

Kwachena, is the result of work commenced in 2008 with most of the songs written between then and 2012.
David explains the album title as, ‘a prayer and also declaration of a new day, dawning day in Zimbabwe amidst pain, struggle, and severe desperation to just survive economically.’
The title track, Kwachena, recognizes how poverty often strips people of dignity yet a firm stand by the word of God reassures us all that one day fortunes will turn favorable.
The album is sure to provide much needed social commentary, motivation, and bottomless entertainment.
The album is set to grace digital stores on the day of release which also happens to be a self-gift to the internationally acclaimed songster who also celebrates his 31st birthday on August 25.
In a pre-album release track titled Mai Varamba, David ensures to leave you salivating for more.
The track is already getting good reception as radio stations have already added the mellow effort to their playlists.
Producer and rapper Alex Gwinyai Chabveka, better known by his stage name The Ckali Way, has released a new single, titled Pipe. The big bass fuelled trap jam is the lead single from his upcoming EP, The Mixtape.
The Ckali Way is better known for working with Pro Beatz on the hit song, Munoigona Here, and hopes Pipe will be similarly well received.
“Pipe is a chilled trap song with my signature heavy bass feel. My ambition is to produce music that Zimbabweans can be proud of and that also shows we can make music with a global appeal,” he said.
The Mixtape EP will be launched in late August through an online listening session. The Ckali Way promises an entertaining event with good music and surprise guest performances.
Pipe is available on all international music streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Google Play.
Since the days of colonisation which introduced the element of worshipping God to Africa to this day there has always been a conflict regards which method of worship is best for Africans.
Some say Africans were already worshipping God through their own system but the white men came and changed their views making many of them shun their ways and embrace the God of the whites and their ways of worship.
Now to add to this unending debate, renowned preacher and teacher of the gospel of Christ Jesus, Apostle Batsirai Java will on Monday release a book titled African Religion, A Blessing or a Curse in which he reveals how cultic African religion is.
“There is a difference between African religion and culture. The latter is the moral value of an African man or woman but African religion is totally different. It is a cult, yes I repeat it is a cult,” said Apostle Java.

“In this book, we exposed through thorough research and verification how the vadzimu to Mwari cult emanated from. The ancestral worship we call our own here in Africa actually started in the Middle East in Mesopotamia to be specific and it is idolatry,” highlighted Java.
Apostle Java also reveals the different ranks of idols that were present in Mesopotamia.
“They had a god responsible for various things such as fertility, rainmaking and even global dominance. This god is one of the oldest idols to be worshiped in ancient times. To worship their god’s there would raise altars and appoint priests and prophets who would minister on the altar.
“It is on these altars that human sacrifices were made annually to the god’s which gave them an appetite to gather as many slaves as they could because they god’s were fed using blood,” he reveals.
