The fiercely contested encounter was tied at 210 all.
The chevrons had an explosive start to their innings with a small cameo by Cephas “ Mayor” Zhuawo of 18 runs off 8 balls. Mayor perished after playing one shot too many.
Brendan Taylor managed to stabilise things in the middle overs with a fine knock of 44 runs.
However, Zimbabwe suffered a late collapse after being bowled out for 210.
Scotland bowler Sayfaan Shariff five-wicket haul and an economy rate of 3.38 earned him player of the match.
Both teams qualified for the super 6 and will carry 3 points each to the next stage. Zimbabwe tops the group ahead of Scotland due to superior net run rate.
Afghanistan also qualified to the super 6 with the assistance of Nepal who beat Hong Kong by 5 wickets after chasing down a target of 153 runs.
Ireland booked their super 6 ticket by making light work of the United Arab Emirates beating them by 226 runs (Duckworth Lewis Method ).
The Irish posted 313/6 while UAE never got going as they were bowled out cheaply for 91. Despite the loss, the boys from the gulf managed to make it to the super 6.
West Indies stretched their unbeaten run to 4 matches as they beat Netherlands by 58 runs ( DLS). The men from the Caribbean first date of the super 6 is on Thursday 15 March against Afghanistan at Harare sports club.
Zimbabwe dancehall superstar Winky D has released the video to the touching song Ngirozi but the artist has disappointed again.
But it won’t be the first time he has done harm to his big songs, remember the dololo video to Disappear?
For a song that involves angels, one would have expected a little more effort than the weak delivery by the Gaffa.
The video lacks everything: Poor script, poor cinematography, poor casting, poor location, poor creativity, there was no effort at all to match his stardom.
Basically, its something one can do with a smartphone and a 5 minute YouTube editing tutorial.
This video settles the debate of who is the King Winky D or Jah Prayzah, for the Gombwe it’s a clear indication that he has accepted his fate and has relegated himself to be a local artist with no appetite to penetrate the continent.
Here are some comments on the video
Billym T Machngra: mavideo anokuremerai Biggie, song is too good but the video is dissapointing…try get advise from Jah P and Freeman Biggie
Ray Ray : i like the song..the video is too ordinary..i prefer that musarova bigman and controversy medley
Hong Kong won the toss and elected to bowl first as they felt the pitch moisture might assist them but Zimbabwe batted well in the front end of their innings.
Hamilton Masakadza had a fine knock of 84 runs which was enough to earn him player of the match as the chevrons scored a modest total of 263 runs.
Hong Kong struggled from the onset as the hosts’ bowlers turned on the screws. All the bowlers chipped in wickets except seam bowler Blessing Muzarambani.
In other matches played on Saturday tournament hot favourites West Indies registered their third win after beating Ireland by a comfortable 52 runs after posting 257/8 in their allotted 50 overs.
West Indies batsman Rovman Powell was named the player of the match after blasting his maiden century off 100 balls. Powell smashed the media centre window on his way to this huge milestone.
Said Powell: “I m delighted to reach my first century its something I always dreamt of as a young boy growing up in West Indies.”
Afghanistan finally got the monkey off their back by beating Nepal by 6 wickets. They chased down 194 easily.
Papua New Guniea struggled with the bat as they perished for 159 runs losing to the Netherlands by 57 runs.
On the off chance that the emotions are still there, it doesn’t make a difference to what extent it’s been since you and your ex have separated.
Tytan and Lamont Chitepo Picture facebook.com/lamont.chitepo
When you hear a specific melody, visit a specific eatery, or simply observe his or her name fly up in your Facebook feed, the sentiments will rise back, influencing you to feel crude, open and uncovered.
That’s the plight of dealing with an ex especially where unresolved feeling still lingers in your Memory.
Lamont Chitepo in Do You Remember dissects this love conundrum featuring Tytan, the song which most of us can relate to shows a married couple and an ex somewhere in the picture.
The married lady somehow looks very happy in her marriage, giving her hubby absolutely no sign that she has a heart split between him and an unforgotten ex.
“You are the one, the one that got away..Asi wakaroorwa..” goes part of the lyrics as the pop artists challenge the status quo laying bare the destructive danger of exes in a relationship.
He makes a confession “Ndichiri kukufunga..” perfectly expressing the feeling that you think you would be with that person for so long and have a great relationship until one day…it’s all over.
Lamont Chitepo plays the ex in this sharp and crisp video that was shot in the UK.
Like all emotional cheats, the lady got caught in a classic way. With hubby in the jacuzzi, the lady decided to take a selfie with him while enjoying a glass of expensive wine..before she could press the take button…The ex calls in the full view of hubby.
Do you remember is certainly outstanding amongst other tunes about missing your ex out there, particularly for where genuine feelings still exist.
Despite it tackling a sensitive issue in all communities regardless of race or culture, the song has a catchy hook and great deliveries that will make you dance at the same time questioning yourself about that recent text you sent to your ex
In this song, Lamontmakes you consider your long lost ex and how you first met, at the same time the song reveals just how individuals can go a little insane when pondering their exes and missing them more than anything.

Its the end of the road for Gelah as the pair of Ahneeka and Angel were commonly known, the lovely housemates became the latest to be evicted from the Big Brother House.
We take a walk down memory lane for the pair’s stay in the House
Ahneeka burst into the BBNaija House as this sparkling bubble that lit every corner of the room she was in. From the start, her attractive physique caught guys’ attention as much as it raised the girls’ suspicion.
It took her a lot for Housemates to relate to her for Ahneeka’s intimidating confidence was obvious for all to see. Although she made it clear very early on that she was in the House to win and was not looking for a fling, she had to fight tooth and nail to spurn Rico Swavey ’s and Angel’s advances while keeping Bitto’s, Teddy A’s and Tobi’s wandering eyes at bay.
With time and with her impossible to miss poise, Ahneeka was able to win the House with the use of her fatal weapon – her engineer brain power. Gradually she had assumed the discreet role of elder and counsellor as her peers turned to her for advice and strategies.
It is with Angel whom she was paired with under the Gelah monicker that Ahneeka first won the Arena games. They say it takes two to tango, and surely Angel deserves some credit for this shared victory, for it seemed like he has softened up since entering the House.
A budding filmmaker, Angel never quite really managed to be liked in the House. His muscleman, know-it-all and telling-it-like-it-is personality brushed a few Housemates the wrong way, which got him side-lined very early on. Slowly and after a few sputters, Angel had started to find his space in the House and let his guards off.
Ahneeka and Angel have left an unfillable void in Biggie’s House.
A UK-based Zimbabwean gospel musician Nursel Mandiopera has taken the plunge and swapped her 9-5 job to take up music full time.
Nursel Mandiopera
She will release her debut album, You are my God, this March.
Inspired by gospel powerhouses such as Tasha Cobbs, Tamela Mann and Sinach, Nursel said ‘You are my God’ is an enthralling, contemporary collection of music, marked by praise and worship, in both English and her native language, Shona.
Adding that it is filled with hope, promise and powerful messages to impact the world for the glory of God.
The dynamic nine-track album has been produced by one of Zimbabwe’s finest music producers, McDonald “MacDee” Chidavaenzi.
“I initially wanted to release a five-track album but after talking to MacDee about my vision and what I had in mind, he made me realise that I had more to share with the world,” said Nursel.
“He is undeniably talented and has a knack for understanding what a musician needs and what will work in an industry that is so competitive.”
“I was impressed by how in tune he was with my vision – it made the process a lot easier and very gratifying,” she added.
Growing up in a family where music formed the nucleus of Nursel’s interest and growth in music, made her realise that she wanted to pursue it professionally.
“Music was a constant presence during my childhood, my father enjoyed composing, and still does – my mother also had a passion for music and enjoyed singing, so naturally I did too.”
The ‘Like heaven’ singer first came onto the music scene in 2014 and released several singles including Who is there like you? . A year later, she released music videos for ‘Like heaven’ and ‘Who is there like you’, before taking time out to work on other projects and her album.
In 2016 she joined award-winning gospel ensemble, Free to Worship, writing and recording the song, Praise Him, which will be on the group’s fourth single due for release towards the end of the year. Nursel was also nominated for gospel artist of the year at the 2016 Zimbabwe Music and Arts Awards (ZIMAA).
“I took a number of risks with this album and during the process learnt to appreciate other styles of gospel that I would have never thought I would enjoy or see myself doing.”
“My musical journey so far has allowed me to embrace and appreciate the multiplicity of music genres and styles out there. Working with a diverse group of musicians over the years has enabled me to add an edge to my music that wasn’t previously there. I can’t wait for the world to hear the final product,” she added.
After the launch in March, Nursel will embark on an introductory nationwide tour in churches; before doing an international tour. Music videos for two of her singles are scheduled for release towards the end of the year.
The album will be available from all digital stores from 10 March 2018.
Africa Magic in association with MultiChoice have called for entries for the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, the ceremony for which be held on September 1.
Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said the AMVCAs competition was a prestigious initiative that honoured film and television talent across Africa, and this year’s competition would be sponsored by Konga and supported by Nokia and Heritage Bank.
“The AMVCAs were created to celebrate the contribution of African filmmakers, actors and technicians to the success of the continent’s film and television industry and, following the success of the previous five editions, preparations are in top gear for the 2018 edition,” she said.
Entries for the AMVCAs opened on Thursday March 1 and will close on April 20. The awards recognisefilm talent across a range of categories, from acting and directing to scriptwriting and cinematography.
Other categories will include short film or online video, soundtracks, costume design, sound and lighting and several others, making a total of 27 categories in all, seven of which are open to viewer voting and 20 are decided by a panel of judges.
“MultiChoice and Africa Magic report that they have been inundated by calls from filmmakers across Africa asking when the AMVCAs would return, and after a brief hiatus, we are delighted that 2018 will indeed mark the sixth year of MultiChoice and Africa Magic successfully hosting the AMVCAs.
There have been definite improvements in the industry since the inception of the awards, highlighting their value. MultiChoice and Africa Magic are dedicated to helping unearth and celebrate talent on continent and we know the 2018 edition of the AMVCAs will have an even bigger impact on the African film industry than the previous five successes.”
Entry to the AMVCAs is free and films, made-for-television movies or television series are eligible for entry if they have been broadcast or publicly screened during the period October 1 2016 to March 31 2018.
An entry guideline has been prepared to assist entries:
