The Phillip Chiyangwa led Zimbabwe Football Association has provisionally expelled more football personalities from participating in all football-related matters.
In a press release, those provisionally expelled are Trevor Carelse-Juul, Eusebio Maseko, Rafiq Khan and Vincent Pamire for what they called ‘violating the ZIFA constitution.’
The resolution was unanimously made by the ZIFA Executive Committee at its meeting on the 13th of April 2018, citing the above individuals’ gross violations of the ZIFA constitution and their establishment of parallel structures in an attempt to usurp power from constitutionally elected officials.
Reasons for the expulsion are as follows:
1.Peddling falsehoods and unfounded allegations against legally elected leadership in a bid to overthrow a legitimately installed leadership.
2. Establishment of illegal parallel structures meant to destabilise legitimate administration structures and attempting to wrestle power from elected.
3. Absolute disdain and disregard for the ZIFA constitution and the ZIFA Rules and Regulations. The expelled individuals’ conduct intransigently violates Article 2(e), (f) and Article 7 of the ZIFA constitution.
Accordingly, the expelled officials cease to be members of the football family and are not allowed to associate with or represent any bona fide member of the football family.
Stephanie Mavunga became the first Zimbabwean in history when she was picked as the second Ohio State women’s basketball player taken in the 2018 WNBA Draft on Thursday night and will be joining her former Buckeyes teammate.
After the Indiana Fever took Kelsey Mitchell with the No. 2 pick, Mavunga was selected No. 14 overall by the Fever as well.
A 2013 McDonald’s All-American, Mavunga played her first two college seasons at North Carolina and picked up first-team All-ACC honours as a sophomore after averaging nearly a double-double (14.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game).
But in the summer of 2015, the proven all-conference forward announced her intentions to transfer.
That August, she chose Ohio State, and she joined the Buckeyes shortly after helping Team USA earn the silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games, where she played with three Buckeyes players.

Mavunga sat out the 2015-16 season because of NCAA transfer rules, and two separate injuries forced her to miss 13 games her redshirt junior campaign.
She was productive when healthy, however, averaging 11.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game and still earning second-team All-Big Ten honours.
That success, albeit over two-thirds of the season, carried over to her final collegiate season this year.
She increased her scoring and rebounding numbers to 16.6 and 11.0 per game, respectively, and turned in 19 double-doubles while starting all 35 games.
She paired with Kelsey Mitchell to form a first-team all-league duo that powered Ohio State to a 27-7 record and a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Now, both players are off to the WNBA ranks.
And by the end of the three-round draft, one of their former teammates may be joining them. ESPN’s latest mock has the Minnesota Lynx drafting Buckeyes guard Linnae Harper with the final pick in the second round (No. 24 overall).
March saw a busy month in international football, with a total of 133 games played across the globe meaning plenty of changes in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
Teams bound for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia grabbed some of the headlines this past month, with holders Germany remaining top – despite a draw and defeat in March – Belgium climbing onto the podium (third, plus two) following a thumping 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia and Tunisia (14th, plus nine) and Uruguay (17th, plus five) jumping up the table after both recording a pair of friendly victories in March. The Eagles of Carthage, for their efforts, reached their best-ever ranking.
The Zimbabwe Warriors dropped two places on the world ranking table from 108 last month to 110.
Tunisia are the highest ranked team from Africa occupying number 23 on the world rankings
The amount of games last month was partly down to a glut of friendly fixtures, but there was also competitive action, with qualifiers for the AFC Asian Cup making up 13 of those 133 matches.
As a result, some lower-ranked Asian teams saw a remarkable upturn in fortunes. Kyrgyz Republic (75th, plus 40) stole the show on the world’s most populous continent this month, qualifying for their inaugural Asian Cup after defeating Myanmar and leaping up the latest ranking as a result.
Elsewhere in Asia, Oman (87th, plus 16), Chinese Taipei (121, plus 13) and the Philippines (113th, plus nine), leapt up the table, partly as a consequence of positive results in Asian Cup qualifying.
There were also best-ever positions for the newest FIFA Member Associations, with Kosovo’s pair of friendly victories over Madagascar and Burkina Faso seeing them leap 24 places to 152nd, while Gibraltar’s 1-0 win over Latvia saw them jump ten spots to 196th.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 17 May 2018.
The NBA Playoff places have all been booked and just over half of the teams are gearing up for the postseason while the remainder are getting ready for the draft lottery and rest and relaxation.
There are 24 players of African descent on the rosters of all of the teams who have qualified, a few of these might not make it on the final rosters for the playoffs.
On Thursday the NBA announced that team rosters (active and inactive) for the 2018 NBA Playoffs will feature a record 62 international players from a record 33 countries with eight Africa-born players to feature in 2018 NBA Playoffs
All 16 teams competing in the playoffs will feature at least one international player. The Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers have an NBA-high seven international players each.
The Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs each have six. The Spurs’ 2014 NBA Championship team featured a record nine international players during the playoffs.
The most represented countries among the 62 international players on playoff rosters are France and Australia (seven players each), followed by Canada (four players), Spain (four players), Turkey, Croatia, Cameroon and Brazil (three players each).
Thirty-six of the record 64 European players who were on opening-night rosters for the 2017-18 season are on playoff rosters.
Four-time NBA Champion Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs; France) will be making his 17th straight playoff appearance, the longest active streak among all NBA players.
There were 108 international players from a record 42 countries and territories on opening-night rosters for the 2017-18 season. This marked the fourth consecutive season that opening-night rosters featured at least 100 international players and that all 30 teams had at least one international player.
The previous record for international players in the playoffs (60) was set in 2007, and the previous record for countries and territories represented in the playoffs (30) was set in 2014.
The 2018 NBA Playoffs tip off Saturday, April 14. In the opening game, the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors will host the San Antonio Spurs at 9:00 p.m
With a genre-defying discography that includes ‘Ma Obama,’ Zino Irema, and the latest hit ‘Mai Mwana’ off his 2017 EP, it’s easy to see Takura as one of the best talents in the land.
In such a short space of time, he has become urban music’s biggest hope and there is no invalidating Takura’s effect on the present age of music performers.
Today at Club 1+1 LongChen Plaza he adds another golden strip to his jacket as he launches his first album “Someone Had To Do it.”
“The album talks about people who have had to do things and wait for no one, whether you are a breadwinner, you aren’t gonna say I’m tired because someone has to do it,” he told Zimbuzz, as he gives an insight into the album.
He says he has learnt a lot in the last few years, something which will be reflective of the new project.
“The takura that you met in 2016 on Zino irema is still the same, its just that music matures, you learn a lot more. What people like and not like. That’s what has changed, I now know what people relate to more,” he says.
His music centres around the everyday struggles of an ordinary person, the love, the toiling for a better life, and as a young man he has had his share of it.
“The album touches on socio-economic issues because I’m always talking about hustling, getting up and working and not being lazy,” he says, with a lot of sincerity in his voice.
“I work a lot that’s how I seek opportunities if your work is great people will find you.”
Responding to the burning question of what genre of music he does, Takura says he is not a typical musician and does not enjoy putting a limitation on his creativity and art.
“I’m not into genres, I work according to how I feel. When I did the Relationship Goals Ep I was feeling like that at that moment and it’s a success. When I did Stripped I was feeling like that and it was a success. Why should I box myself. I make music, that’s what I do, I just want people to vibe,” he explains.
‘Someone Had To Do it’ is packed with different tastes for different people, although it is mostly Trap/Hip-hop and RnB, he says its difficult to describe it using one emotion.
“I have my daughter’s song, my sister’s, my mum’s song and then I have a song about a car and swag dripping. It’s hard to describe the album in one emotion,” said Takura.
But his ultimate goal is for the music to reach everyone.
“With this album I want everyone to have it, for everyone to know me. I feel like I have really started. People appreciate music, it’s just that sometimes it doesn’t get to reach them,” he concluded.
It started off as a way to show that geeks can have fun, too, but, after a decade on air, The Big Bang Theory has grown into one of the world’s most popular television sitcoms and looks set to capture the attention of comedy enthusiasts for several years to come.
As popular with DStv viewers across Africa, including Zimbabwe – as anywhere else, the show is now into its 11th season, running on prime time on M-Net 102, with the premiere of each episode of season 11 on Wednesday nights at 7 pm.
Alongside it is the spin-off prequel Young Sheldon, which in its first season is already garnering critical acclaim and large audiences, and which is aired on M-Net 102 at 6.30pm on Wednesdays, just ahead of the older, related sitcom.
Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said The Big Bang Theory had captured a huge fan base in Zimbabwe, and Young Sheldon looked set to do the same.
The vibrant cast of The Big Bang Theory
“Zimbabweans enjoy the cracking pace of the show, with its exceptionally witty and sophisticated dialogue and very modern set of circumstances and situations, and we’re delighted that season 11 is proving a continued hit,” she said.
“We’re equally pleased with the feedback from viewers about Young Sheldon and we feel sure this will turn into a long-running hit, too.”
The Big Bang Theory was created by Chuck Lorre – previously successful with shows like Two and a Half Men – in partnership with Bill Prady.
The pair, along with fellow executive producer Steve Molaro, writes the show’s script, which is often described by critics as a modern masterpiece.
The show launched on American network CBS in September 2007 and has been a major hit since that time, with distribution across the world, including through DStv to Africa. In March 2017, the show was renewed for a further three seasons, meaning shows at least until the end of season 2019-2020.
It is currently in season 11, which launched on M-Net 102 in February and will run to 24 episodes, as with each of its forerunner seasons.
The show has since the start focused on the exploits of five main characters living in Pasadena, California – four of them male science boffins and the other an aspiring and attractive actress.
The men – Leonard Hofstadter, Sheldon Cooper, Howard Wolowitz and Raj Koothrapolli – are genuine geeks and face the problems of the world with determination, wit and a certain level of cynicism.
Penny, the original female lead, is bright, cheerful and constantly thwarted in her drive to achieve acting fame.
Young Sheldon grew from an idea of Jim Parsons, who plays the older Sheldon in TBBt and who has garnered a host of awards – including Golden Globes for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
The scene of the series is Sheldon’s home in east Texas in the late 1980s, when he is nine years old and living as a child prodigy in a normal home.
Incidents and people spoken of by Sheldon in TBBT have been created within this series, which, unlike TBBT, is partially shot in external scenes and not solely in a TV studio format.
The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon are premiered each Wednesday between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on M-Net (channel 102). In addition, re-runs of seasons 1 to 10 of TBBT are featured regularly on Comedy Central (channel 122).
The wait is almost over. ExQ has revealed the cover art for his highly-anticipated 2018 album, Tseu Tseu.
ExQ is one of the most intelligent artists in the industry, he just refuses to die, he is still as relevant as he was when he first released Musalala, and with that in mind everything he does is calculated
Most album covers are quite straightforward, telling basic stories of life and sometimes love with unsurprising, clear meanings for everybody to interpret.
For ExQ there is a reason why he has been around long enough to see this day when many veterans of the Urban struggle have fallen by the wayside.
Tseu Tseu Cover Art
In any case, now and again, a cover declines to give away the greater part of its insider facts, leaving us to kick back and fill in the spaces ourselves.
He has avoided discussing anything regards the album save for the single Tsvigiri which he dropped with a smashing video apart from that he has offered no further information on Tseu Tseu.
Saturday 14 April at Unplugged the artist will finally save us all from the speculation about the contents of Tseu Tseu together with the title meaning.
But his album cover attempts to pull back the drapery giving us a few ideas of what to expect.
It provides clues, ExQ seats on a royal chair, like a King but his dressing is not necessarily identified with royalty.
Instead, he wears a white t-shirt, some black pants, red sneakers and a golden watch.
These perhaps mean to say, he is standing and bridging the gap between the old and the new generation, but the subtle message seems to be saying I’m Forever King and will forever be here.
For someone who usually let his music speak, we await Saturday to get the full story behind Tseu Tseu but if our speculation is correct, this might be one of ExQ’s biggest project.
The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards(ZAA) South Africa hosted yet another spectacular event this past Saturday in Sandton.
And as usual, the achievers came in their best ever dresses and suits. But there were others who were just too good to not notice.
And it had to be the Queens from Bulawayo!!
Nothing could have been better than Mbo Mahocs in gold and Kim Jayde in Black as the two Zimbabwean ladies gave a perfect Kodak moment for fellow attendees.
Kim was dressed by South African based Orapeleng Modutle Style Avenue and she stepped out in a risqué lace gown.

The MTV presenter who also won the Media Personality of the year went bold with a sequinned gown featuring sheer lace panels both at the front and back.
In a message posted on Instagram, the Bulawayo born model and TV presenter said “A night I’ll truly never forget. To be acknowledged by my fellow Zimbabweans means the world! I love what I do & it shows! THANK YOU for all your support each & every day – you made my dream a reality.”

For Mbo Mahocs, she killed it for the night. As the red carpet host, she looked shinny in a glittering gold dress.

Singer Varaidzo is now a degree hotter after she recently graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Rhodes Univerity.
Celebrities can be a lot of things — attractive, talented, rich add a dose of some intelligence and we have a maverick.
This is Varaidzo Nyakunika’s second degree.
She is also a holder of Bachelor of Arts from the same Institution.
The singer even changed her Instagram handle to @lawyer_varaidzonyakunika and we aren’t sure if this means an end to her microphone battle to court battles.
For her graduation, she wore a white dress with gold shoes which matched the golden strip on her gown complemented by a waist-Long weave.
Some of her popular songs included the rendition of Ruva Rangu, Lonely released in September last year and recorded at Military Touch Movement and Chii Chaunoda which was produced by Russo.
Someone made the Queen angry and she has let loose an avalanche of all kinds in her new diss song Know Your Place.
That’s what you get when you give Kikky Badass a mic and a beat.
So a guy recorded a diss song targeted at Kikky, apparently just to get some hype and he said some pretty nasty stuff that infuriated the reigning Best Female Rapper in the country.
In the reply, Kikky Badass does not play around and everybody that ever mentioned her in a negative light gets called out.
And oh the song takes a few jibes at some radio DJs…
But Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned especially when they get tired of misogynists calling them ‘B****’ and ‘H***’
Kikky shows she is a Badass she brings the bars and intensity in rather slow but sensual synths, with a deceiving soothing voice that will make you forget its a diss song.
This song succinctly proves her versatility and talents which we think she possesses, I hope we get to hear more of this good stuff from her.
