A million YouTube Views and an MTV Base premiere: Mudhara has arrived!

Uploading a video on YouTube is something very easy and can be done in a couple clicks. Putting a video on the web, be that as it may, which gets many thousands or even a huge number of views is difficult by any stretch of the imagination.

Jah Prayzer - Mudhara Vachauya

Numerous components and a tad bit of fortune decide if a video truly becomes a hit.

For Jah Prayzah he seems to have found the magic as he has achieved a milestone of 1 million views in just under 3 weeks for his hit Watora Mari featuring Diamond Platnumz

To top it all he got an MTV Base Africa premiere the same day.

We got in touch with the Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe and this what she had to say about the premiere.

“MultiChoice Zimbabwe is always delighted when Zimbabweans  benefit from exposure on one or more of the channels on the DStv bouquet,” she said.

“Such exposure reinforces the role that DStv plays in empowering, assisting and encouraging the wealth of talent in Africa, whether in arts and entertainment, business, sport or any other aspect of life and living.

“Jah Prayzah is increasingly popular as a musical artist and his exposure across the continent is having the effect of increasing that popularity beyond our borders.

“It is our hope that in coming months and years more and more Zimbabwean performers will utilise opportunities afforded to them on DStv to reach even further and higher in their personal and career goals.”

From being homeless to building an Empire: The story of Zimbabwe’s Glo Diamond

Riddled with anxiety as to what the next step will be or where the next crumbs of food will come from, was the last thing Glo Diamond real name Glorainne Francis remembers before she collapsed and found herself in Hospital.

“I left home (Zimbabwe) at very young age of 18 to settle in the United Kingdom,” recalls Glo Diamond

Before she left home she was working at a casino while waiting for her Advanced Level results.

“I was making a lot of money so my mum and I decided to help out some relatives with money to travel to the Uk, in the hope that I will follow and stay with them.

Little did the former Harare Girls High student know that she would become a beggar and destitute in a foreign country.

“Upon arriving in Britain I tried to contact my relatives I had assisted but they had changed their contacts and didn’t want anything to do with me.

“For the first time in my life I had to learn how to beg,” she says with a fading voice.

And for the better part of her life, she was to sleep at a train station with no blankets.

The Hospital experience which turned into a blessing in disguise

As the cold weather of Britain would take its toll on her, she collapsed and found herself in a hospital.

“The doctors said it was Hypothermia (a medical emergency that occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature)

“In the hospital, I then met a student nurse who remembered me from an interaction we had had in Zimbabwe where I used to work, after being discharged she took me into her small room,” she narrates.

The one event that changed everything

DStv’s Zambezi Magic Partners With International Film Festival

DStv’s Zambezi Magic channel is co-sponsoring this year’s International Images Film Festival, which runs in Harare for a week from Friday, August 26.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said the festival, focused on women, was a suitable platform for the promotion of awareness of Zambezi Magic, which was created in 2015 to give greater continental visibility of film and television productions created in Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe.

“We are delighted to be associated with this prestigious event and look forward to a long and happy relationship and to providing support for what has become a major annual arts and entertainment initiative,” she said.

“Zambezi Magic is at the early stages of developing this platform for local content and the IIFF is also in the process of building a foundation for the promotion of films that highlight women’s issues.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe has been pleased to be involved in this process, linking the festival and the channel that is becoming an essential part of the Zimbabwean film and television scene.”

The festival opens on Friday with a programme of 56 films being screened at five venues in Harare. Nine of these films are sourced from Zimbabwean filmmakers, including Wizzy Mangoma and Dorothy Meck.

The theme of the festival for 2016 is Women Alive: Women of Heart, and helps IIFF focus on telling stories of women in a positive manner.

Zambezi Magic’s sponsorship will involve supporting the closing ceremony , at which the winners of 17 awards being handed out will be recognised for effort and achievement. This event will be a glittering cocktail party with  entertainment and is expected to be attended by more than 250 people.

Lets talk about Stunner’s wife and her $1500 dollar shoes

It was a glamorous affair Friday on the red carpet during Stunner’s album launch, this was the first time some of us seeing Mr and Mrs Chideme together.

Stunner and wife Olinda Chapel

While Zimbuzz was busy fashion policing, we noticed that LV brand on Olinda Chapel’s feet and we knew who had the most expensive set of legs on the red carpet.

There are no curve balls when a Louis Vuitton sticker price runs into a huge number of dollars because such is the cost of nice footwear from the French fashion brand.

Olinda shows off her shoe to the Zimbuzz cameramen

For some of us the price tag might give us a mini  heart attack but not for the newly discovered queen of bling (Hello Pokello)

So we went on a hunt online and discover that the  gold ankle-strap cost a whopping $1500. (I hope you have paramedics near you in case you get that assault on your heart)

A closer look at the shoe shows a  suede leather on the straps all the way to the tip, with a striking gold metal accessory on the top.

This was a masterstroke statement from Olinda as she knew very well that a Loius Vuitton shoe is way beyond the reach of many women and has many females all over the world salivate just at the sight of it.

Side note: After reading this you can switch over to the Beforward site and continue your car shopping.

Hello – Sorry Wrong Number, Its Freeman

I am not a dancehall enthusiast, but I HAD to tell y’all about this video I stumbled on to in a Kombi during a Traffic Jam somewhere in Harare.

So Freeman launched a DVD Album with a bunch of videos and I got to watch the Hello Video and it Is Brilliant

You can tell there was a script as the story runs so perfectly

Freeman and Juwela
Freeman and Juwela

Freeman calls his girlfriend (Juwela) to tell her that he is coming home from Harare work to see her. He tells her that he misses her and that he has a new phone with a selfie cam.

The girl meanwhile is receiving the call at her rural homestead in the typical Zambia and Dhuku with a bunch of Naysayers.

The story continues as Freeman gets fired for playing on the job, and going home. The faithful girlfriend waits by the bus stop and JUMPS on her man when he arrives.

Fast Forward to the end and Freeman is teaching Bae how to take selfies.

The fashion is on point with the script, its rural chic whilst Freeman is in His HKD boss regalia looking every bit the successful Themba from Town.

The Guest appearances by Juwela and Jeepers add that Fun bit to the video, and yes the WENERA star Muriel is in it making the Hello Video a star-studded 4 minutes.

Zimdancehall really out did itself. The song is quite catchy as well you will be singing along within minutes. So Hello (Not it’s not Adele) is a Dope Clean Dancehall love song.

All in all, I had a great Kombi ride whilst listening to the Song.
