The Walking Dead Season 10: Is Danai Gurira leaving?

THE WALKING DEAD season 10 has been confirmed by AMC and will welcome a number of its cast back for a number season.

But will Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) return or is she leaving?

Guriria’s contract expires at the end of this season.

Following breakout roles as Okoye of the Dora Milaje in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, conflicts in Marvel Studios’ upcoming schedule might well rule her out of AMC’s future plans.

“She has been very vocal about saying that she loves the show. We love Danai; we love that character.

Right now, she’s got a lot of opportunities and she needs to weigh what she feels is best for her,” AMC programming president David Madden told The Hollywood Reporter. “But we certainly would want her on the show as long as she wants to be on it. We really want her to stay.”

Following the departure of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes, Michonne has become an even more integral part of the show as one of Alexandria’s leaders, not to mention the mother of Rick’s son, so writing her out or killing her off will be easier said than done.

The Walking Dead: Michonne

“She is an incredibly valuable character and I’m really hoping she stays. Obviously, the lesson of Andy is that the show can survive anybody’s departure if need be but that’s not our goal,” Madden added.

“The goal is to have Danai continue on whatever basis she can make work, given the other things that she has going on in her life.”

Kim Jayde speaks on the Ackermans #IAmMe lingerie campaign

Zimbawe’s MTV Base presenter Kim Jayde is on the new Ackermans ‘#IAmMe’ campaign, which aims to inspire women to celebrate their true selves, and each other.

The campaign features other South African celebs Busiswa Gqulu, Pearl Modiadie, Minki van der Westhuizen and Rami Chuene.

Ackermans is shaking up the industry with its latest Valentine’s Day campaign, ‘#IAmMe’.

Conceptualised and produced in partnership with the retailer’s lead creative agency, 99c, the campaign’s message is not one of romantic love, but rather, self-love.

“The body positivity movement is gaining traction all over the globe, and ‘#IAmMe’ says to women that rather than hide or grudgingly accept your flaws, these so-called ‘imperfections’ are what makes you unique,” says Tanya Ruiters, marketing specialist at Ackermans.

Said Kim Jayde in her message, “We need to change how we see and speak about our bodies – your feet can take you all over the world, your hands create and heal, your mouth can uplift and inspire.

When we love ourselves, there’s no room for negativity, for body bashing, bullying or putting other women down.”

Christopher Smith, creative director at 99c, says, “We wanted to tell the story of five enormously successful, vivacious women at the top of their game, and show that they have the same insecurities and vulnerabilities as all of us – yet they’re choosing to embrace these so-called ‘flaws’.”

‘DJ Stavo & Winky D were invited to the Star FM Music Awards’

Following DJ Stavo’s outburst for what he terms an invitation snub by Star FM for their music awards, it has been established that the DJ was actually invited.

Wrote DJ Stavo on Twitter:

“Sorry just have to get this off my chest. After all is said and done. I am truly disappointed that I was not invited to the awards. After my contribution to the arts industry it truly it hurt me. I apologize to my fans but from today onwards I have no confidence in the system

“I am human. I do get hurt. As of 2019 I will not launch any of my tracks on any radio station in Zimbabwe. I rather look beyond where I am accepted, Respected and pushed. I will be releasing my 2019 via social media and any other international platforms where I am well respected. “

Speaking on the Star FM’s 326 Xpress Show with KVG and Pathisani, H-Metro’s Deputy Editor Charles Mushinga said DJ Stavo was being a cry baby.

Mushinga also said a lot of peole who had done a lot for the music industry were not invited because there wasn’t enough space.

He explained that Star FM’s DJ Iyati had called DJ Stavo to invite him but the DJ said he was busy.

In the interview KVG adds to Mushinga’s explanation that the initial invitation was sent out for the 25th of January awards which were later postponed to 1 February to pave way for the mourning of Dr Tuku.

However DJ Stavo did not inform the organisers that he would be available on the new date.

Zimbuzz’s investigations established that DJ Stavo was indeed invited and was supposed to present an Award for the Best Duo/Group category.
