Due to demand, organisers of Loud Africa have extended the Harare auditions for the inaugural season to Sunday.
With over $30 000 worth of prizes to be won, the audition which saw a massive turn out during the past exit weekend will now run until July 1.
“We have decided to extend the auditions past the 28th of June to Sunday the 1st of July at 430pm,” said Loud Africa project manager Sandra Mlambo.
“This is because of the overwhelming late response we have had from the public asking for last minute auditions, we then decided that it would be good to give everyone an opportunity to showcase their talents.”
Harare auditions are being held at Pablo’Z located at Sam Levy’s Village from 0900am.
After the Harare audition, the call will then move to Gweru Pablo’Z from 2 to 12 July 2018.

Diego Maradona was taken from his seat and helped into his private box just moments after Argentina dramatically beat Nigeria 2-1 at the World Cup.
The former Barcelona and Napoli star was captured on camera holding on to one person while another attempted to guide him through the door.
The footballing legend looked agitated throughout. His mood was seen ranging from celebrating wildly to falling asleep, to giving a disgraceful two-fingered salute after Marcos Rojo’s late winner.
The World Cup-winning legend was then treated by two paramedics in a nearby room at the end of the game.
Reports in Argentina claim Maradona was then taken to hospital but sources at the ground say he was treated at the stadium’s medical centre.
Anxious medical staff at St Petersburg’s 64,000-seat Zenit Arena were seen checking his pulse and attempting to calm him soon after.
Maradona, who has battled cocaine addiction and wild mood swings, was caught on TV lunging forwards from his executive box seat and giving opposing fans below “the finger” with both hands.
Diego Maradona swears at the Nigeria fans as Marcos Rojo grabs the winner for Argentina at World Cup 2018
The Mirror’s Darren Lewis, who was at the match, said: “Maradona has not gone to hospital. He was treated here at the Zenit Arena in the medical centre for a ‘blood pressure-related issue’
A preliminary diagnosis later confirmed he had high blood pressure and a heart murmur, according to reports.
Maradona is then treated by paramedics
Sources later suggested he recovered and boarded a private jet to fly to Moscow last night.
Fans had videoed him leaning against a barrier appearing unsteady on his feet at the match.
Hundreds of young hopefuls gathered at the Pablo’Z club in Harare during the weekend for a chance to audition on the new music talent search show, Loud Africa.
Excited and confident about their chances of success the artists queued outside the audition house as early as 8 am.
The Harare auditions which kicked off last week are in their final stages and are set to end on 28 June 2018.
Thereafter they move over to Pablo’Z Gweru from 2 to 12 July 2018.
The auditions, which ran for hours on Saturday, attracted interest from passing shoppers at the Sam Levi Village who expressed their enthusiasm about the upcoming latent search.
One Mrs Sterling said the country needed such properly funded talent shows so as to unearth the abundant talent we have.
“The last time we had something of this magnitude was during the CBZ A Academy days, and that’s a while back,” she said.
“From what I have been told here Loud Africa is going to be the biggest thing not only on TV but even on everyday conversations.”
Pablo’Z head of marketing, Lyndon Kapuya urged Harare artists to come and audition as the show auditions are now nearing the closing date.
“We do not want anyone with talent to be left out, young and old, both should come and register for a chance to win Loud Africa,” he said.
“So far we have had scores of talented artists from as far as Mutare, Norton, Marondera and other areas surrounding Harare.
He also said that schools which wanted to audition as a group are most welcome and they will pay the normal $15 registration fee.
The winner of Loud Africa will receive $30 000 worth of prizes among many things which include a full recording contract.
The show which will be hosted by radio presenter Rebbeca “Miss Becky” Muchenje will begin to air on ZBCtv end of July with the final expected before December.
Pablo’Z Productions in partnership with AfricanFire Media have invested heavily into the project and have purchased top of the range equipment
On its judges’ panel is radio and TV personality Zandile ‘The Zazalicious One’ Ndlovu, Power FM’s Hazvinei ‘DJ Chilli’ Sakarombe, singer Prayersoul, AfricanFire Media co-founder Martin Boka and singer-songwriter Victor Stot.

A total of 30 girls will take to the ramp tomorrow evening at the New Ambassador Hotel as they contest for the title of Miss Tourism Harare.
After weeks of auditions which were held at the ZTA offices in Harare, a total of 70 aspiring queens went into boot camp where they were groomed by Zim Gossip Models’ Rose Moyo and Mercy “Catwalk” Mushaninga.
The 30 aspirants were chosen from four provinces mainly Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland West, only six will proceed to the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe national finals.
Miss Tourism Harare licence holder Mercy Mushaninga said she was satisfied with the class of ladies who will take part in the finals.
“They are beautiful and excited about the pageant, we have taken them through grooming and the level of preparedness and confidence among them is high,” she said.
She also revealed the names of the judges for the night and these are Tsitsi Mutanga, Cuthbert Chigwida, Adeline Garden, Hilda Mabu and Tare Munzara.
A surprise package of local up and coming musicians will be providing entertainment at the 3-hour event which kicks off at 6 pm.
Just two games into the 2018 World Cup, Lionel Messi and Argentina are facing elimination, they were last knocked out of the World Cup at the group stage in 1962.
The Albiceleste failed to win for the second consecutive match in Russia, falling 3-0 to Croatia Thursday in Nizhny Novgorod on a self-inflicted wound by backup goalkeeper Willy Caballero, a brilliant long-range goal by Luca Modric and a tap-in by Ivan Rakitic in stoppage time.
Croatia advanced to the knockout stage with the victory. But Argentina’s loss means it must win its final Group D game versus Nigeria, plus get some help with other results, to avoid an embarrassing first-round exit.
Here is the breakdown
Iceland take on Nigeria on Friday afternoon in a game which could effectively knock Argentina out of the World Cup at the group stage.
A win would put Iceland on four points – the maximum Argentina could get from the group.
In the World Cup group stage teams’ tiebreakers are decided on goal difference not head-to-head like the Euros.
Effectively, Iceland could win their next game vs Nigeria and then draw against Croatia in their last game to finish on five points and put Argentina out. Or alternatively, Iceland could draw with Nigeria and defeat Croatia to leave it out of Argentina’s hands.
This means that a win may not be enough in Argentina’s final game against Nigeria, depending on the outcome of Iceland vs Nigeria on Friday.
One of Zimbabwe’s top reggae crooners, Emmanuel Motsi aka Mannex and his Zimreggestra band will be taking his groundbreaking act uptown at the PaPosition Bar and Lounge in Avondale this Friday, 22 June 2018.
Mannex, who used to perform with legendary reggae band, Transit Crew, as a lead singer, promised to put up a polished act at the venue where he is set to perform for the first time.
“When I do music I do it from the soul, for the people. It’s my mission to bring a message of life and hope to the people.
Reggae is for everyone, for every occasion. You have to come and see for yourself,” said Mannex.
Mannex and Zimreggestra band manager, Tatenda Chimanga aka Sisqo Lion, said that the Friday act will also feature Mannex on the percussion and guitar.
“All along, we’ve been pushing the envelope. We are taking Zimbabwean original reggae sound to a whole new level. The response so far has been great.
We are not copycatting, especially, on the new songs that we are cooking and brewing,” said Sisqo Lion.
The Mannex and Zimreggestra act has been performing mainly at high-density spots like Mabvuku, Tafara, Rugare among others and is now upping the ante by taking the act to revellers who would not otherwise have been able to go to the far-flung venues.
“We want to bring reggae back to everybody but in our own version. We believe that real reggae has a place in Zimbabwean people’s hearts and that’s why we are on a mission to take it far and wide,” said Mannex.
“It’s going to be a whole different reggae experience. We are promising all the uptowners fireworks.
Through our meticulous act, we are striving to bring a new breath of air in the entertainment sphere in Zimbabwe.
At the same time, we are blurring the illusionary lines between downtown and uptown by bringing our music to all the audiences.
Mannex and his Zimreggestra bring a charisma and energy on stage that is so intense that with better outreach they stand to attract greater audiences to their shows.
In May, the band performed at the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA), a recognition of the band’s reggae prowess.
According to Mannex, the vision of the band is to celebrate the African culture and way of life and bring families and their visions together.
He added that he will also sample some music which will form part of an album project that the band is currently working on.
Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe will be hosting a Poetry Slam this weekend in Harare under the theme “Building better cities, Building Better citizens”.
The Harare edition of the poetry slam is in partnership with LitFest, an organization that runs an annual international literature festival and is headed by one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated poets, Chirikure Chirikure.
A public call for participation was issued six weeks ago and over eighty poets sent their pitch videos for the preliminary shortlisting.
A panel of adjudicators selected the top 20 poets who are set to contest in Harare on the 23rd of June 2018.
The contestants will battle it out in three rounds of live performances, after which the top three poets will emerge.
The best poet will walk away with a cash prize of $800, while the second runner-up will get $400 and the third will be awarded $200.
The Prize money comes with specially crafted animal horn trophies which resemble the role of a poet as a bearer of important messages in society.
In traditional African communication culture, the horn is a communication gadget used to broadcast important information such as a call for an important village meeting or announcing that there has been a death in the community.
In addition, the ten finalists will also get token prizes in form of books. The Lafarge Poetry Slam is an initiative that is aimed at providing a platform for thought-provoking poetry about key subjects relating to the Zimbabwean society.
The expectation is to build positivity and inspire solutions to societal issues. This particular poetry slam theme, “Building better cities, Building better citizens”, is a call for poets to consider positive and socially constructive messages in their poetry.
It is anticipated that these poets will focus on the growth possibilities in our nation and in our people.
The Lafarge Poetry Slam is also Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe’s avenue for supporting the Literary Arts sector in Zimbabwe.
The Arts sector thrives on the support of stakeholders who provide platforms for exposure and performance to refine their art.
A poetry slam is a tournament in which poets compete in live performances of original works. Each poet has to perform in a limited length of time. There will be a panel of judges that will be adjudicating in the process.
After each round, the contestants with the highest points proceed to the next phase, until the top three poets eventually emerge.
Besides being competitive, a slam is also fun and highly entertaining as the poets are not allowed to use any props, but have to depend on their creativity and performance skills.
