WrestleMania 34 Results: The Undertaker brutalises John Cena

In the very building where The Undertaker’s Streak met its demise, The Last Outlaw rose from the abyss and laid John Cena to rest in quick and brutal fashion, giving the 16-time World Champion exactly the kind of legacy-affirming match he asked for — though, perhaps, not the one Cena had thought he’d get.

For Cena, the opportunity to face Undertaker was less about getting one over on the WrestleMania legend and more about putting on an epic, sui generis showcase that was free of politics or championship implications.

He got pretty personal in his attempts to bring Undertaker back, but The Phenom’s continued silence left Cena more disappointed than anything. It seemed that The Deadman was content to call it a day after losing to Roman Reigns at last year’s WrestleMania.

Cena, too, had resigned himself to the front-row seat he had initially chosen to take when The Deadman failed to respond to him.

And the arrival of Elias — a great hoodwink by the Raw Superstar — enraged Cena to the point that he had no choice but to punk him in the ring. And then The Deadman finally answered.

This was The Undertaker in perfect form, from the ghoulish theatrics — his duster and hat reappeared in the ring, then vanished in a bolt of lightning before the man himself arrived — to the epic entrance, to, especially, what happened inside the ring.

Quickly, it became apparent that Cena was not going to get the 12-round battle between living legends he was advocating for.

Killer T Album Launch : The Crowning of a Prince

It is such a huge weight to carry the hopes of a generation on your shoulders one that looks up to you for spiritual guidance through your musical prowess.

Minister Kazembe, Benjani, Killer T and Ginimbi

Such is the expectation that Killer T had when he stepped into an overly packed 1+1 Club at LongChen Plaza.

Since his announcement of the launch of the New album – Mashoko Anopfuura, for a whole period of time the conversations on the streets of social media and Zimbabwe changed to one subject – Killer T.

Indeed these young ghetto chanters have become the prophets of our time, whether, by design or divine calling, the dancehall boys have bent the world to their inspiration.

And so they gathered at the club for the crowning of a Prince and the heavens agreed and decided to open its womb and drop some showers – showers of blessing for the Ceremony.

Inside the club was probably a combined net worth running into millions as the likes of Ginimbi, Boss Albert, Tinashe Mutarisi (Nash Paints), Mahwindo, former Warriors Captain Benjani Mwaruwari and many other rich boys of Harare descended to the launch.

Even Hip Hop was represented, The likes of Tehn Diamond and Stunner who also gave a magical performance bore witness to the occasion.

Stunner and Carlos Green

Celebrities such as ZiFM’s Misred, Cindy Munyavi, Carlos Green amongst others, added the glitz to the VVIP Section which was also graced by Minister Kazembe Kazembe.

To have the brand power to summon such heavyweights for an album launch, there should be something special about you.

You need to have royal blood running through your veins, and for Killer T this was the first time the star had such a gathering inside one room.

Ginimbi called for a challenge to the stage for anyone who could outbid him. And there were no takers.

At this point Benjani had pledged to buy the CD for $2000 before Boss Albert outbid him and put $5000, the former Manchester City striker then upped his bid to $10 000.

As the money tussles went on, the boys returned to their VVIP seating.

Mahwindo took a microphone with her and as soon as the crew settled, she started announcing figures that shocked the fans and the thousands watching from various facebook live streams

She said as the Liquor Boys Ginimbi will be buying the Album for a cool $US 50 000. And with that, the hammer dropped.

Probably Killer T and his management underestimated their brand power as the venue proved to be too small, as by 12 midnight there were still queues of people paying their way into the venue.

Killer T must have realised how much a big artist he is because his live performance has improved immensely, he looked energetic and determined to prove that this was his crowning moment.

You see, there exists a vacancy in the Big Five, the places are occupied by Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Oliver Mtukudzi and maybe Alick Macheso.

Could Killer T stake his claim among the big boys? This album will tell.

Midway into his performance, Nash Paints Boss, Tinashe Mutarisi nicodemously breached the security barricade and started dropping new, crispy clean US dollar notes on Killer T.

There were in various multiples, of tens and fifties.

We were not able to count how much Mutarisi was splashing but all we saw was that the notes rained on Killer T’s ginger hair until it literally turned green with the dollars.

And with those acts, we witnessed the crowning of a prince – A dancehall Prince.

Andy Muridzo, Sam Dondo ready to rumble at the UK SAMA Fest

Musicians Andy Muridzo and Sam Dondo will for the first time in their careers perform at the SAMA Fest UK, one of that country’s most anticipated shows.

Sam Dondo and Any Muridzo

With indications last night showing that tickets were almost running out, the two young artists will have a test of their artistry in front of a full house.

Some of the acts include Oliver Mtukudzi, Winky D and Mafikizolo.

The Festival runs from today Friday 30 March with the London show taking place at Oasis while the Saturday one happens in Coventry at Sky Dome Arena.

An ecstatic Andy Muridzo told Zimbuzz that he was bringing all the firepower to Great Britain.

“I have come with full force”, he said. “People should expect a mixture of volcano and tornado.”

“The SAMA Fest is my opportunity to show Zimbabweans living in the UK what I am capable of”, he added.

Muridzo has been teasing his new song Munondo from the upcoming album and UK fans might be lucky to hear the full version of it.

For Sam Dondo the SAMA Fest is as much a test as it is for his compatriot Andy.

The musician has pulled a big collaboration with Casper Nyovest and told ZimboJam that he was excited about his project.

From his tone, the singer looks determined to cross the great divide into Pop culture.

“I am really excited about this collaboration, this venture brings a new element to my music when I looked at the two albums I have released the past two years, I realised that my style appealed more to the senior folks but with this collaboration, I will also appeal to the youths,” he said.

Sam Dongo has had some releases in the past two years that have longer shelf life than they actually lasted and the UK show might be that magical moment that fans will get to know of them.

Again those attending the SAMA Fest might be lucky to get a sample of Sam Dondo’s new album which is set for release end of May.

This year’s festivity is sponsored by Impala Car Rental and it seems the company have already an International success story under their belt after bringing Casper Nyovest to Harare in 2017.

Speaking at the SAMA Fest press conference the Impala Car Rental  representative Alex said it was a momentous occasion to be partnering with the UK SAMA Fest

He also said the company is growing both in their mainline business and by doing an international show and have captured 46% of the market share, with every second car leaving Zimbabwe being an Impala Car

Honorary Doctorate for Alick Macheso?

Imagine its a cool Wednesday afternoon at the Universiy of Zimbabwe and degree candidates are gathered in their caps and gowns at UZ grounds where the graduation ceremony will be held and amongst them is the country’s most famous bassist.

And on the morrow, the papers and the blogs will be referring to him as Dr Alick Macheso.

All this could become a reality as Nash Paints Group took it upon themselves to gather at least 20 000 facebook likes on a post so as to take the petition to the country’s highest learning institution to confer Alick Macheso with an Honorary Doctorate.

We want the university of Zimbabwe to award Macheso an Honorary Doctorate Help Nash Paints achieve this by liking and…

Posted by Nash Paints Group on Tuesday, March 27, 2018

That Macheso has made outstanding personal contributions to the work and development of Zimbabwe’s social, economic or cultural growth is not a debate.

As a Sungura artist Macheso, many feels deserves the conferment of the honorary degree in recognition of his insightful work exploring and questioning contemporary issues through music.

The Nash Paints Campaign was launched on Tuesday 27 March 2018 and by the time of publishing this article Friday 30 March, the post had gathered the 20 000 likes that the company had targeted.

Macheso was at one point the brand Ambassador of Nash Paints.

No doubt that his fans would jump on the like button…But the big question though is whether the University of Zimbabwe will see the Sungura maestro befitting of such an honour.

A doctorate is the highest degree conferred upon a person. You can apply or be nominated for an honorary degree from a university or college without spending tuition or years in the classroom.

The task that Nash Paints Group faces is pretty much standard, it will require some or all of the following:

Macheso

Tendai Ndoro ordered to stop playing for Ajax CT, Matter referred to FIFA

The South African Football Association (SAFA) have ordered Ajax Cape Town striker Tendai Ndoro to stop playing immediately following an arbitration hearing earlier this week.

Tendai Ndoro Pic – SAFA

Arbitrator Nassir Cassim SC has ruled that the Tendai Ndoro matter be referred to the world football governing body, FIFA arguing the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) does not have jurisdiction over the matter.

Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City had lodged a protest with the PSL arguing that Ajax Cape Town had contravened FIFA rules by fielding the player. The player played for Pirates before signing for a Saudi Arabia side Al Faisaly before returning to the PSL to join Ajax.

FIFA rules prohibit a player to play for three different clubs in a single season. He also ruled that in the meantime, the player should stop playing for Ajax.

In his ruling on Wednesday, 28 March 2018, Cassim SC referred the case to FIFA saying it was because the matter involved an overseas/international club.

According to Pindula Murape Murape made his first appearance for Dynamos in 1997 when he also went on to win the league title.

In 1998 he was part of the rare breed at dynamos that reached the champions league final when he also played alongside his former coach Callisto Pasuwa.

After seeing himself serve Dynamos for close to 10 years he found himself moving to play in Swaziland in 2009 to play for Mbabane Highlanders were he only played 2 matches, a decision he feels was his worst ever decision. He made a return to Dynamos in 2009 as a free agent

“We would especially like to commend Mutare Boys High School, which has provided a regular set of quality entries over the years, particularly in the poster category.

We had entries from newcomers, including Harare High School, Mbare. It was interesting to note that St Columba’s won the essay category  in the previous competition when the winner was Andile Dube.”
