The pageant was initially pencilled for April and was later pushed to July leading to the cancellation of the contest.

In a statement, the Trust Spokesperson Tendai Chirau said: “The Miss Zimbabwe Trust would like to inform it’s stakeholders and the generality of Zimbabweans that it will not be holding the 2016 edition of the Miss World Zimbabwe pageant.

“This decision was reached after the Trust did not get the sufficient number of ladies during the scouting process.

“The scouting process was conducted for a period of 8 months. It is in light of the above, that the Trust will hold the next pageant in 2017.”

Meanwhile, the 13 aspiring queens who were shortlisted during the scouting process are advised that they do not have to come for the another scouting process which is still ongoing.

The shortlisted ladies have an automatic entry when the pageant is held in 2017.

In an interview last week,The Chairperson of the Trust Mrs Mary Chiwenga, however, said that “they have not found a worthy model for the task.”

Schingy gets K.Od off the Mafikizolo Gig: The Real Story

We were Not around for the Mafikizolo gig (Not touched they have more gigs here than most artists).

Anyhow it seems that something went down there backstage, the Hip Hop sector is up in arms with the first shot being cast by Hatitambweidzoidzo hit maker, Schingy.

Schingy

Of course, various Fans and experts weighed in their left and rights opinion, with a lot of worms coming out of the can ,critics towards ZiFm from “Young Hip Hop” Cats was abound, showing that relationships are strained between the two.

Click HERE to read Schingy’s rant where he basically said ZiFM denied him the chance to perform at the gig.

However, Zimbuzz gives you the real story on how Schingy might have acted like a dancehall diva by demanding more than he actually was allocated.

Apparently, the Hip Hop singer requested for 10 entry tags for his ‘band’

We spoke to Jive Zimbabwe Director Benjamin Nyandoro who was the Event Manager and he gave us his side of the saga.

“I got a call from him (Schingy) after 7 pm as I was handling other issues,” Nyandoro explained to Zimbuzz.

“(There was) serious communication breakdown on tech rider so I Had to look for more tags for his extra 8 persons whom I was initially not advised of.

NOTE: (A tech rider is a set of requests or demands that a performer will set as criteria for performance before they arrive.)

Nyandoro said Schingy then got delayed in the process resulting in him not being able to perform in his time slot.

On Ti Gonzi and Briss Mbada

“Ti Gonzi and Briss Mbada refused to perform at their scheduled slot. Why? We (Ti Gonzi and Briss Mbaba) want to perform just before KO after Winky D,” revealed the Jive Director.

“I said it’s my programme, not yours. In as much as you want to take good opportunity and market yourself to this new and huge audience, you work with my schedule, I have a good reason why I do it like that.”

“Very Normal, artists believe so much in themselves. Why not? But what do I do as the event Manager,” quizzed Nyandoro

“I design a program that protects the event from potential agitation from the audience, I have had several incidences of serious agitations that at time degenerate into injuries and damage to property.

“I can’t risk having certain acts after experienced Acts like Winky D,it kills the build up.”
