Jackie Ngarande and Mudiwa’s Great Task to Feed 2000 Families

Award winning personalities model Jackie Ngarande and Gospel Rapper Mudiwa have taken what could be probably their biggest tasks as public personalities — they have been mandated to spearhead a campaign to feed at least 2000 families.

Jackie Ngarande and Gospel Rapper Mudiwa

The two were last week appointed goodwill ambassadors for Simuka Africa Youth Association and they seek to use their influence to positively impact Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole.

Great is their mandate as they lead ‘Skip A Meal’ fundraising campaign, an annual mobilisation initiative of Simuka Africa that seeks to raise financial and material resources in response to challenges faced by vulnerable and marginalised people.

Skip a Meal campaign works in a such a way that a well-wisher is asked to skip a meal and donate the money/food to the hunger-stricken.

The total target for the organisation together with the ambassadors Jackie Ngarande and Mudiwa is 2000 families which are child, female and elderly headed.

They also include people living with HIV and AIDS and people living with a disability.

Speaking about her appointment Jackie welcomed the great task that she has been given.

“I’m humbled to have been appointed as one of your ambassadors to spearhead such a great commission, thank you for entrusting me with such a huge responsibility,” she said.

“As a public figure, i will use my influence to make sure that our goal of making sure no one person goes to bed hungry is achieved.

“I am willing to work under any condition whatsoever to make sure we eradicate poverty,” she added.

Gospel rapper Mudiwa said helping the needy was one of the things closer to his heart.

“True religion is when we as a church or people of God start taking care of the poor in our societies, yungI’m glad that we share the goals and visions with Simuka Africa,” he said.

Simuka Africa Youth Association is a voluntary charitable organisation whose mission is to provide services and programs that would enable young people to realsise their fullest potentials

Brian Nhira’s Airport Experience That Birthed the Biggest Song of His Career

“As I was getting ready to board an aeroplane heading to a good friend’s wedding, Sitting in the airport terminal I noticed an elderly couple”, explains Brian Nhira.

Brian Nhira

“The wife was in a wheelchair and it was evident that she couldn’t speak or move on her own. As drool dripped from her mouth, her husband wiped it away.

“In that moment, I was confronted with the reality that I was getting ready to witness the wedding of my good friend and his bride who are both young and full of life”, he continued.

“They would soon commit to loving each other for the rest of their lives without a clue as to the circumstances the future would bring.

“As I continued to observe the elderly couple, in that airport terminal, I began to think of how at one point in their lives they stood at the altar, both full of life, but somewhere along the line… something happened. It is that experience that birthed “Would you still love me?” he tells Zimbuzz.

Brian Nhira first wowed the world with his rendition of Pharrell’s hit single, “Happy” during last years’ blind auditions of the popular USA  talent show The Voice.

Nhira (23) whose family has been travelling the world for sixteen years as part of his father’s ministering, was so good that Pharrell had to say this: “Clearly you sang that song much better than I do.”

Almost a year later the boy is back with what could possibly be the biggest song of his career.

Would you still love me is an intense love song that can evoke the right emotion at the right time before you say I do.

In the song he asks his bride to be if she still would love him even in the most challenging of times, sickness, hurt, pain…he even ask “What if I’m complicated, always leaving you frustrated Would You Love Me”

The strong emotion in the song is evident that it was coming from such a deep place, and one would think it is a personal story.

“It’s definitely a combination of both, the song was birthed out of the personal experience with the elderly couple the artistic/songwriting process took over after, and I began to put words to the feelings I was experiencing as a result,” he narrates to Zimbuzz.

Would You Still Love Me can possibly be his breakout song and Brian is already planning big moves.

“People can expect more music, in the next couple of months we will be rolling out more singles and videos, I am excited for the world to hear the songs I’ve been writing and see what my team and I are creating visually”, he said

“We also plan to tour very soon. For me, nothing is better than getting out in front of people and singing songs that I’ve written.”

If you have your make up on, this video is guaranteed to mess that up for you. And if you are a man make sure that you are not watching it in public as it sure will make you cry

Like always a few people are disgruntled by the results.

Social media chatter reveals that many thought Killer T was robbed of the song of the Year for Takangodaro, others questioned the wisdom behind awarding Ammara Brown Outstanding Female artist when she does not have an album.

Ammara Brown beat gospel musician, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave and new sensation Tamy (Thamsanqa Moyo) for the Outstanding Female Musician gong.

Nick Zemura’s Muzita Rababa a series, also attracted a lot of attention with people question how a series was nominated in the Full-Length Film category which they eventually won.

NAMA Adjudicator Ben Mahaka later explained that Muzita Rababa had submitted a 65-minute feature film.

So the big question is Who Are The People Responsible for Deciding the NAMA Winner.

Tytan Grabs the Bride, As Stunner Finds Machira Chete

As it is after Valentine, a lot of girls probably found out that they are not their Baes’ bae, like Stunner finding machira chete in Meikles Hotel. Don’t know what I am talking about?

Stunner finds machira chete

Where have you been ?surely you came across those Movie like posters that heralded the coming of a Zimbabwean Love story featuring Tytan as the love Hero for any mistreated, cheated girl ?.

The visuals for the song Bho are simply a cut above the rest and if you haven’t watched it, here is a small incentive.

Plot :

Wedding day at Meikles, everyone is super excited, bridesmaids are toasting it up and taking selfies whilst the bride gets her makeup done.

bridesmaids take a toast

The groom played by Stunner looks Oh so spectacular, dancing around with his Boys , but then he steps out to check his Whatsapp messages the bride also steps out to receive a call away from the squealing bridesmaids and dhumadhuma with stunner making out with a voluptuous bridesmaid by the staircase, devastated she runs away to an empty conference room, Bumping into an unaware ExQ .

Meanwhile…Tytan the cute bellboy/Room service guy or whatever they are called has just delivered some champagne and sees the devastated bride and Cue the Thinking out loud type of dancing.

Reasons to ADORE the Video

*The song is absolutely amazing, Tytan takes full advantage of being tri-lingual and effortlessly tells the story.

*The cast is absolutely ON point, beautiful and handsome people, there was definitely noFacebook casting in this video .the cameos were a stroke of genius, we had to play it 4 times to get all the names to match the faces of our favourite rappers and socialites

*The fashion was wedding insert fancy name for classy and expensive, and I know some of you will freak out seeing that girl in just her inner garments, but save your tea

*Tytan Dancing…..Enough said

*The magic of this video is its SIMPLICITY and you can tell people sat down, scripted, cast and THOUGHT *clap*, IT,*clap*, THROUGH, *clap* (The hand of executive producer Begotten Sun is very visible there (Kuda Musasiwa)

Fashion Designer Thembani Mubochwa To Launch 2017 Collection

Award winning Fashion designer Thembani Mubochwa who is the brainchild behind the TZM (Thembani Mubochwa Zimbabwe) brand, unveiled some of his 2017 plans.

Thembani Mubochwa

Mubochwa who is expected to release a luxurious collection and the Elephant Dress collection (which will be in the big five animals collection project) next month.

The luxurious collection will be falling under the name ‘Journey Beginning’

According to Mubochwa, the collection will be having male and female designs and this will be the first time that he releases both ladies and gentleman designs at the same time.

The name of the collection ‘Journey Beginning’ was chosen as Thembani believes that the collection will reflect the TMZ brand’s 15 years journey in the fashion industry.

“The Thembani Mubochwa’s luxurious collection will be under the wing name called ‘Journey Beginning’ the inspiration for this collection comes from the journey of 15 years I have walked without looking back or aside to do something else except fashion designing.

“This would have been my first collection that I will be ready to showcase all over the world but this year it’s not my focus,” said Thembani

However, Mubochwa says what will make the ‘Journey Beginning’ collection different from his previous collections will be the maturity from the quality of his collection.

“The unique part of my collection will be the maturity from the quality of my collection especially the finishing and the garment construction, something that we are lacking in Zimbabwe as fashion designers.

“The finishing on local designers clothes is not something you can take to the international platforms, I believe its high time we stopped leading the young generation astray and tarnish the image of our fashion industry,” he said.

Among his other plans is to continue working with the Craig Zoowie brand which he believes will take a higher step in the fashion world.

Some other projects that Thembani Mubochwa will be working on are to do with the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Water as he is the Zimbabwe Elephant Ambassador

“I am investing more in Zimbabwe this year as the Elephant dress was endorsed by the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Water together with the Ministry of Education starting the Schools’ Elephant Dress competition the first term of 2017 1st term,” said Mubochwa.

NAMA Disqualifies Foreign Directed Music Videos

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) on Thursday announced the list of nominees for 16th National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) edition to be held on 18th February 2017 at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare.

Notable nominees in music include Trap King Takura, young Tamy, Winky D and Jah Prayzah.

In a press release, the organisers said a panel of independent adjudicators were appointed to preside over all the submissions and went through an intense 6 weeks of adjudication.

They said the adjudication was based on submitted entries together with monitors’ reports of both individuals and institutions that were appointed to keep an eye on excelling artists throughout the year.

Adjudicators applauded the geographic spread of entries across all genres and quality of artworks despite limited resources although in some sectors like Spoken Word.

However, the Arts Council body said that they were not going to recognise video entries directed by foreigners.

“Most submissions of music videos were directed by foreigners and generally, the award for outstanding video is given to the director and NAMA does not award foreign practitioners,” read the press release

Adjudicators said only Zimbabweans are eligible to receive a NAMA.

This disqualified a lot of videos including Jah Prayzah’s Two video Watora Mari and Mudhara Vachauya, This also means that a lot of Zimbabwean in the diaspora will not be eligible to enter since most of their video are done by foreign directors.

The panel also noted the decline in the number of females in the arts sector.

“…..lack of consistence in female artists in terms of productivity and presence, this is owing to various reasons top amongst them being reluctance of promoters to support female artists across board,” they noted.

Zimbuzz is pleased to share with its readers that it has been nominated in the Outstanding Online Media Category.

Tamy is Back With A Song That Every Black Girl Needs To Hear

Almost every song cued on our playlists today is commanding ladies to drop it, shake it, wine it and ricochet in practically no garments.

If women are not beeing called the B-Word they are either being told all the corners on their bodies that they themselves don’t know exist or all the things the brother would want to do to them on a Sunday morning when mama is at Church.

Titled Beautiful/Ndozvandiri Tamy’s new offing is set to immunise your year against your corrupted playlist, as it provides a healthy dose of confidence encouraging people to feel comfortable and pretty the way they are.

It commends our uniqueness as people and goes further to urge everybody to take a place of valuing themselves as Beautiful.

For a change a feel good song delivered with all the ingredients of a banger track, a sensible message packaged in an enjoyable manner.

The song dropped on Wednesday and its Tamy’s first collaborative single of 2017 featuring trap genius Takura and versatile dancehall singer Dobba Don.

Tammy opens the song in her signature infectious voice, capturing the essence of being yourself while making you feel good about yourself.

The song is set on the RnB beat with heavy influences of Electro dance music and the three take turns to immerse their strong vocals in a perfect way.

The Rebirth of Tamy?

There is a disturbingly huge void in the Royal Palace where RnB Queens are supposed to reside, Ever since Queen Tererai Mugwadi unceremoniously relinquished her crown it was only up to one royal member Cindy Munyavi taking her regal duties seriously.

Is the situation about to change? Can the little princess Tamy wrestle the throne and assume to the summit?

We are of the strong belief that this song is a rebirth of Tammy as she is now perfectly in her genre, the way she is so comfortable riding that beat shows that she is at home.

The first time I listened to Tammy in 2016 I was left wondering why an 18-year-old with such a voice was not doing pop music.

We enjoyed Tamy of “Ndibereke” but we love Tamy of “Ndozvandiri” You are 18 for Obama’s sake please be our Pop Queen.
