Whilst most upcoming artists in Zimbabwe are winning for not getting radio airplay on local stations, others are being creative.
Hillzy
Hillary Chipunza affectionately known as Hillzy is one of the artists who have wisely used social media as a platform that can take him to his destiny of glory.
Before being a brand in his home country Zimbabwe, Hillzy was already making good waves in the South Africa’s music industry where he is based. He performed in quite a number of South African TV shows including Expresso and Hectic 9 ‘nine’ on SABC2.
South Africa’s Adidas went on appreciating the 23-year-old’s talent by making him streetwear Ambassador.
Outside of music, Hillzy holds a degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering (double mergers) after studying at the University of Cape Town.Yes! artist are also learned.
This is what got him his first interview at a local radio station with the urban presenter ‘Your Girlfriend’s Favourite Dj’ Dj Mox.
As a way of penetrating his home turf, he did a Zino Irema (Takura) cover song which is equally good as the original.
As a creative artist, he went on to add a trap feel on the 90’s hit ‘Svovi Yangu’ by Oliver Mtukudzi and named it ‘Ndiwe wega uripo’ with the help of his producer and friend Beatsmith.
His first single Muroora a good morale love song made crazy hits on social media and marked an increase in his followers so as listeners.
Sadly he still remains an underrated superstar apart from being many girls’ favourite because of his love jams such as ‘You Are Enough’ and ‘What You Deserve’.
A fortnight ago he made a good fusion with the dancehall sensation Nutty-O on the Ndaenda jam and a week after the release of a perfectly baked collaboration Zvinei Nemi with the ‘Big Shark’-Stunner.
Currently, the hip-hop star recorded a 14 track album called T.U.T.O.R (The University Take Over Reloaded) with H3nry produced by Mr Masinh productions.

But it seems each time something major is about to happen in her career her image somehow gets soiled with false accusations.
In November of 2016, fake news websites together with some mischievous elements on social media accused her of staring in a sex tape after a circulated porn video which featured a woman witha resemblance to Ammara.
The lady in the video was later identified as American porn star named Amari Harrison.
About a week or so ago, the ‘haters’ were at it again accusing the multi-award winning songstress of stealing a dress from a shop called Brands for Less.
The owner of the shop, compelled by the gravity of allegations issued a statement castigating the rumours and said Ammara was not the thief captured on the CCTV recording.
But all this hasn’t deterred Ammaraas she believes the negativity is part and parcel of the celebrity package.
“I have never witnessed a public figure that doesn’t have haters,” she stated.
“Even the Pop has Haters, even Mother Teresa,” she said earlier this week at a media conference in Avondale where her management was briefing the media about the upcoming release.
“The human state of mind generally holds on to, for the sake of survival, of course, negative issues as a way to operate between love and fear.
“I used to get depressed with things like that but eventually I realised that you know what you can’t please everyone with what you do,” she added.
we shall be carrying an article on what to expect from her new album – Ammartia
He said this during a heated debate in Parliament and singled out Zanu PF MP for Harare South Shadreck Mashayamombe as the orchestrator of the attack.
The two Hon Mashayamombe and Hon Mliswa were later ejected from parliament as their argument on how parliament should deal with MPs’ outstanding allowances got out of hand.
Said Hon Mliswa: “You should know that you are a land baron, you made money through land. So, do not come to us and tell us about our welfare. He stole, he is a land baron and that is why he has money. You are a land baron. You are a land baron. You are a thief.”
He continued his assault on Hon Mashayamombe: “You are a land baron, you are a land baron. Go and get your money from those people that you sold stands to, we do not have money.
“I am not Jah Prayzah that you can cause to be assaulted. You are a thug and I am not a thug. Did you not cause the assault of Jah Prayzah! We will get to the bottom of this – I am done with you,”
Mp Mashayamombe denied to claims and responded to Mliswa.
“Hapana apo. You are the thug. On a point of order, he is insulting me.”

The last weekend of October 2017 will rank as a cursed period for Jah Prayzah as he experienced his worst moment since turning to music as a profession.
Late afternoon Tuesday, Jah Prayzah was attacked at the most unusual of places, a cemetery — He had gone to pay his last respect to a man who served him as his security detail.
Crispen Nyemba who died in a car crash on Sunday along Samora Machel Avenue in Harare was a former bouncer for Jah Prayzah.
Videos of the attack have since gone viral on most Social media platforms.
Mourners at the Glen Forest Cemetery turned on the Kutonga Kwaro creator and started assaulting him throwing all kinds of objects at him and poor Jah had to run for cover to avoid serious injuries.
Social media, as usual, went into overdrive with all kinds of theories trying to explain why a man, who is arguably the most loved musician in Zimbabwe at the moment, could have irked mourners to the extent of being chased away from a funeral.
Zimbuzz tracked down some of the eyewitnesses to try and understand the circumstances that led to the attack.
This reporter went to a local gym Tuesday evening where he caught up with some of the bouncers who were Chris’ friends.
“The reason why Jah Prayzah was attacked and chased away from Chris’ funeral is because he showed no concern for a bouncer who protected him for a long time,” explained one of the bouncers at the Gym.
“Jah owed him (Crispen) a lot of money but he failed to contribute even a cent for the funeral, we called him asking for assistance with coffin payments and he kept saying that he was in a meeting,” added the bouncer.
The bouncer continued, ” Imagine we had to call Mudhara Phidza (Philip Chiyangwa) for assistance and he paid for the burial order and all the stuff, but Jah did not contribute anything yet he was not paying him his dues during the time he worked for him.”
The source also told Zimbuzz that the atmosphere was already charged and Jah Prayzah made the mistake of asking for VIP treatment.
By the time of his death, Crispen, was no longer serving as Jah Prayzah’s bouncer.
“When he arrived with his bouncers they were clearing the way by shoving people for him to pass through, that’s when people turned on him and started attacking him,” he continued with his narration.
Zimbuzz tried to reach Jah Prayzah’s manager for a comment but both of his phones were not reachable.
Masvingo
The winds of October must have started blowing from Zimbabwe’s oldest city of Masvingo as Jah Prayzah had to abandon a show after fans started throwing missiles on the stage.
Reports coming from Masvingo suggests that there was a problem with the PA system connection after the promoter failed to bring adequate stuff for the setup.
Jah Prayzah ended up abandoning the gig.
Harare – Castle Lager National Braai Day.
Soja Rinosvika Kure arrived late for his set as he took his sweet time backstage letting his Third Generation band to do an extended yet unnecessary soundcheck that went for over 25 minutes.
This irked the fans as they started throwing missiles on the stage resulting in the band running for cover, sensing danger, Jah Prayzah ran to the stage, knelt down and begged for forgiveness.
Fans continued throwing missiles despite his asking for forgiveness only to stop after a few minutes.
