Zimbuzz caught up with the rapper for a chat and he shared with us his experiences.

“There’s always something going on here, the City Council is always fixing roads but I’m mainly here and we just finished putting up the fence,” he told Zimbuzz

“I am the one who cleans here (sweeping and mopping), it’s windy now and I have to sweep mashizha panze and the parking lot..and its a big parking lot by the way.”

He also told us that he cleans the cars every day before they leave the parking lot after work.

“The guys here are super cool, totodya bhodho rimwe riya-riya rinenge richibikirwa mumugomo, after the sadza is ready they dish it in one place and the 15 of us we eat from the same dish,” he added.

He says he will be doing his service every day from 08Am to 5Pm and says the guys there are always singing his songs each time they spot him going about his work, especially Godo and Chibhodhoro (Hatisati Tadhakwa) and they have a lot of questions to ask about his music.

He says he is staying strong and soldiering on.

Meanwhile, Stunner has been packing venues in the recent shows that he has been hosting proving that he still is as popular as he was before and will also perfom at the Jah Prayzah/Diamond Platnumz ‘Watora Mari Concert’

The Newlands-based station is in a conundrum following the resignation of its top personalities and is battling to keep the news under wraps.

A source close to the developments told Zimbuzz that news presenter Candice Mwakalyelye tendered in her resignation letter and is expected to vacate the station in December.

Another of the Station’s favourite presenters Sokostina is also said to be leaving the station, although we could not confirm when we have it on good authority that by year-end you won’t be hearing the long laughs of Soko.

Farai Mwakutuya who hosts the Current Affairs program, ‘The Platform’ is also on his way out of the station.

Recent recruit DJ Zihlo who hosts The Rush with DJ Munya every Monday to Friday from 1400 to 1800 cuts short her stint with the station as she too is said to have resigned from ZiFM.

Veteran DJ Kimble Rodgers has already left the station after his slot was given to DJ Munya during a reshuffle that happened earlier in the year.

The rational to move Kimble Rodgers from the drive time slot had left many listeners questioning the wisdom behind such a decision.

Kundai Chiyanika who hosts ‘The Movement’ with Danny That Guy on Fridays between 1830-1900 is also believed to have expressed interest in leaving ZiFM.

Already the station has lost one of its popular presenters DJ Eskay who hosted The Love Lounge between 21:00-00:00.

Zimbuzz revealed the news on Eskay’s departure and you can Read it Here.

Yesterday (18 October 2016) afternoon we sent an email to ZiFM Station Manger Tendai Madondo to confirm the said developments but by the time of publishing today (19 October 2016) she had not responded.

This could be ZiFM worst moment since they began broadcasting four years ago on 15 August 2012.

Toya Delazy show venue changed…Borrowdale Racecourse barred for open-air musical concerts

The Toya Delazy Rocking The City concert which was scheduled for this Friday October 21 at the Borrowdale Racecourse has been moved to the HICC.

Toya Delazy
Toya Delazy

This follows a Court ruling barring the Borrowdale Racecourse from hosting open-air musical concerts, after complaints by nearby residents.

The organisers said in a statement:

“With finals plans for this weekend’s Toya Delazy concert in Harare all set, a change of venue for the event has brought about a move to the city centre for the latest in the star’s Rocking The City tour of African capitals.

“We have been informed that the Mashonaland Turf Club is no longer able to allow Borrowdale Racecourse to be used to host open-air musical concerts, after complaints by nearby residents were upheld by the courts.

Sound Event Management had already scheduled two events at the Borrowdale Racecourse on the weekend of October 21 and 22: the Toya Delazy Rocking The City concert (Friday, October 21) and the Summer Night Concert (Saturday, October 22), but the ruling has brought about a need to effect changes to these events.

So the Toya Delazy Concert will now be hosted at the Harare International Conference Centre at the Rainbow Towers hotel and conference centre, a move that means we will be in the heart of the city. The timings and line-up remain unchanged, and are as follows:

6pm – doors open

7pm- Macy and The Red, with guest performers Tamy, Alka Nemo, Dice and ProBeatz

8.45 pm, – Simba Tagz

9.30pm – Ammara Brown with guest performer Tytan

10.30pm – Toya Delazy with her international band and dancers

New ticket prices have come into effect. Advance booking tickets remain available from webtickets.co.zw: VIP tickets are  $25 (at tables), Gold Circle are $15, balcony $10, upper level $5 (the latter is a new price, lower than was previously possible at the Mashonaland Turf Club).

Gate prices at the venue, from 6pm Gold Circle $20, balcony $15 and upper level $10.

The Summer Night Concert planned for Saturday, October 22 had been postponed to Saturday, November 12.  A new venue for this event is being sought at the present time and will be publicised once arranged.

People who have already purchased tickets for this concert are being advised that these tickets are automatically valid for the rescheduled event, but if they are now unable to attend the event on November 12, a full refund will be available from the Sound Event Management box office from Monday October 25.

Navy Seal pens song for Ammara Brown

Charmed by the beauty that is Ammara Brown, Bulawayo-based rapper Navy Seal has decided to pen a song for the gorgeous lady.

“Ammara Brown is a song put together by Navy Seal, celebrating celebrity women in Zimbabwe,” he said.

The song comes as the second single released by the artist this year, with Bulawayo producers Rough Music on the beat production.

“I was watching TV one day in august. It was Women’s Month and they (the TV program) were playing songs that were done for famous celebrity females, to celebrate the month for women.”

“I took the idea and ran it past my team to do a song for our own local celebrity women. We chose Ammara Brown merely because we believe she is the renowned celebrity female in Zimbabwean music at present moment,” he added.

Navy Seal is a Bulawayo hip hop recording artist, and one-third of the Zim Hip Hop Award winning group Art Department ZW.

Why Mudhara Vachauya is Dololo and You Know It !!!!

We get It Jah Prayzah, You are the ambassador of the Army But Really ???? Every time  I mean people took bets about whether or Not you were going to do Military and Guess what YOU DID . SHOCKER.

Look all I am saying is You have become Predictable , we love the Watora Mari Prayzah as well you know.

BUT if  you really want to stick with it at least be more creative with the Uniform Jeez. Since Mudhara Vachauya is a Love song,  I thought  we would see the struggle of Mudhara trying to Get home (I am talking Fights, kidnapping , SWAT rescue you dropping off roofs proving that you are the original African Rambo going to see WIFEY) , whilst the Girl struggled with all the issues of Long Distance.

Also, your uniform needed an Upgrade , More Medals , More Nyembe You are JPrayzah for War’s sake.

Which leads me to my next question where exactly was this war taking place and why? Was it like a Chimurenga Throwback? So many Questions.

Dancers

These dances looked so out of sync with the song
These dances looked so out of sync with the song

What was That ????? Sarafina Lite?? MaSteps emuchato?? We needed straight up street dancing, The Guy in the car dancing to your song whilst driving did a much better job at dancing than those marchers for hire.

We needed something to COPY Jah we needed something that was similar to Katarina type of Dances paSheeben But iya.

I don’t know if you were trying to get another MAMA nomination by sucking up to South Africa but it worked, you have So many South African peculiar characteristics I am sure they are convinced you are one of them singing a dialect they don’t know.

Zimbos don’t do Street Corner Shoe Shine Chairs my guy , we shine one shoe as you walk by and demand that you Pay double. The Post office and coffee shop are too cute and set life , But I guess that is International Standard.

Shoe shining seriously?
