African Women Awards organisers have announced hosts and presenters for the 2016 edition which is set to take place on 3 December at the Cresta Lodge Hotel in Harare.
Africa Award-winning singer and young businesswoman Cindy Munyaviand ZiFMpresenter Danis aka Danny That Guy will be the hosts for the Awards ceremony.
They take over the reigns from Mutsa Samuel and Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa who hosted the show last year.
Cindy and Danis will preside over the 2-hour award ceremony.
Three other gorgeous presenters have also been selected to present for each category for the African Women Awards.
Ruvheneko found herself in the cold waters as she was ‘promoted’ to an unnamed high position to Mighty Movies, thereby leaving her powerful position as ZiFM Programming Manager.
The announcement which was made by AB Communications also saw ZiFM station Manager Tendai Madondobeing ‘promoted’ to Managing Director Regional Stations (Hevoi FM -Masvingo and 98.4 FM – Gweru)
Things have never been the same for the daughter of Health Minister since that infamous May 19 when she hosted #ThisFlag founder Pastor Evan Mawarire on her program The Platform.
In a letter provided by Zimbuzz sources and dated 31 October almost 24 hours before the parent company AB Communication publicly announced a reshuffle, she declined the new offer.
She cited ‘frustrating working environment’ as reasons for her resignation.
“This letter serves to thank you for growing me as a media practitioner since the early part of 2012 and to inform you that I am resigning from all/any titles within the AB Communications Group that have been offered me,” read her resignation
“As you know, a few months ago, I had informally requested in conversation that I would rather move to Mighty Movies than to stay at ZiFM Stereo.
“This was in direct response to the continued frustrating working environment that I have experienced at ZiFM Stereo in the past 10 months; experiences you are well aware of,” reads part of the resignation letter.
“Coincidentally, My Future is in television so this move made sense to us all.
“I note that you’ve offered me this very opportunity through a lateral move in management to Mighty Movies, commencing November 1, 2016, but as much as I appreciate this, I humbly decline your offer.
“Appreciating that the media space in Zimbabwe is very small, I trust that we will remain close and I hope that AB Communications will always be a reference point for me and that you know that I am only one call away.
“I wish AB Communications dominance, innovation, favour, excellence and all round success in this exciting new season.”
For Queen Vee, a shoe is more than just something to cover her feet or something sturdy with a degree of appeal.
Queen Vee
The circumstances are different for the Pop Queen, of course, she wants a durable and attractive shoe but only if it adds value to her already expensively assembled closet.
The Mari Mari and Varidzi Vepattern hitmaker took to Instagram to ‘thank’ Barbadian singer Rihanna for making the Fenty Puma Eskiva Over-the-Knee Boxing Boot.
She posted:
The boot cost something in the region of $900 to $1700 depending on the retailer.
The form-fitting FENTY PUMA by Rihanna Over-the-Knee Eskiva takes a traditional boxing silhouette and its lace-up, over-the-knee construction (enhanced with a back zipper for easy on/off) turns heads and drops jaws, done up in satin and leather and enhanced by the collection’s lucky 13 graphics.

The boot is the ultimate shoe for rule breakers and statement makers. Perfect for elevating a basic outfit to epic status and walking on the wild side.
Over the weekend Rihanna gave Bella Hadid (Sister to Gigi Hadid) a Pair of Fenty Puma the 20-year-old took to Snapchat to share this special delivery, well we have another pair in Zimbabwe as well.
“He continued to touch me despite me advising him that I am three months pregnant,” she said.
Tafadzwa ended her marriage to Alick Macheso in 2014 and the two sired two children.
In June 2014 during a messy divorce case Macheso expressed doubts over the children’s paternity and the court ordered a test which confirmed that he was the biological father.
Mapako stunned the nation in May of 2014 when she claimed maintenance fees of $7000 per month from Alick Macheso but the courts turned down her request and ordered him to pay a total of $1 030 per month for her maintenance and that of their two children.
We first got to know of Tafadzwa in 2010 when she was spotted with Macheso at the Akon/Sean Paul gig which happened at the National Sports Stadium.
Macheso then decided to take her in as a second wife.
AB Communications, owners of ZiFM Stereo and television production company Mighty Movies yesterday announced former ENG Capital director, Gilbert Muponda as Chief Operating Officer.
Gilbert is an investment banker, entrepreneur and economist and his appointment takes effect immediately.
Programming Manager, Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa was also moved from ZiFM to Mighty Movies in what the company said was an ‘elevation to a senior position within Mighty Movies.’
Ruvheneko parirenyata w Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa
The company did not state the new title or roles Ruvheneko will be tasked with within Mighty Movies, a vague position which has led to speculation that this could be a ‘Demotion by Promotion’ move.
Ruvheneko has been a subject of controversy ever since she assumed the powerful position of Programming Manager.
Earlier this month she was slapped with a $200 000 defamation lawsuit by Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe chairperson, Tafadzwa Musarara.
This follows her Twitter post in which she said she had not invited Musarara to her Talk Programme.
Musarara claimed that he attended the radio phone-in programme following an invite by Parirenyatwa.
ZiFM bosses later issued a press statement denouncing Ruvheneko’s words.
In summons filed at the High Court under case number HC9910/16, Musarara said Parirenyatwa defamed him when she claimed on social media that she did not invite him on her programme — The Platform — on May 19 this year.
Musarara, who appeared on the programme as a guest alongside #ThisFlag activist Pastor Evan Mawarire, claimed Parirenyatwa’s disclaimer exposed him to public attacks.
Another source who spoke to Zimbuzz said that Ruvheneko had become too powerful and was causing heartaches for the management.
“Ruvhi (Ruvheneko) is largely responsible for the mass exodus of DJs and radio personalities which you reported on your Zimbuzz blog,” the source said.
“She had unnecessarily made enemies with almost every employee, in fact, she was still keen on firing one of the top remaining female DJs on ZiFM for reasons only known to Ruvhi.”
Also leaving ZiFM is Station manager Tendai Madondo.
Tendai Madondo – ZiFM Station Manager
“The Group would also like to announce the “promotion” of Tendai Madondo, who has been Station Manager at ZiFM Stereo, to Managing Director regional stations.
“She is charged with the responsibility of completing the set up and launch of Hevoi FM (Masvingo) and 98.4 FM (Gweru) and make the stations commercially sustainable and profitable,” read the announcement.
Assuming Tendai Madondo’s position is Tonderai ‘TK’ Katsande who hosts the daily morning show – The Ignition with MisRed.
“Tonderai Katsande becomes the Acting Station Manager of ZiFM Stereo with immediate effect.
“He will be responsible for strengthening the station’s programming to ensure that ZiFM Stereo maintains its lead in the market place,” read the statement.
The statement also said Kelvin Jakachira remains Group Head of News and Current Affairs with an added mandate to spearhead the launch of new media products whilst Susan Makore remains the Group CEO.
Harare really turned up for the Biggest Braai Festival, from as early as midday the queues were already long as revellers prepared to have their stake on the 10 000 kgs of steak.
Here are 5 things that we learnt from the Festival.
1. People are in great search of new experiences
For long we have been subjected to monotonous kind of fun. If you attend a show in June featuring Artist A, you are guaranteed that you would have attended all of the shows for the whole year.
reason being that the musical gigs are not being innovative enough. But with the Castle larger Braai Festival, we felt a new experience, an alternative way of entertainment.
A good example of one innovative gig was the Anne Kansiime Comedy show which fused in different elements of entertainment, but apart from that, our promoters are lacking.
2. All the Vegetarians stayed Home
By midday, 2290 kgs of meat had been consumed
The target was to set a record of consuming 10000 kgs of meat in a single event. However, an unprecedented 12,453kgs of meat was eaten.
Even Delta didn’t see this one coming.
“We never expected the 10,000kgs of meat would be consumed on that day. It was a stretched target,” Delta Beverages marketing manager, Patricia Murambinda told Zimbuzz.
3. Ammara Brown needs a hit album today
Ammara Brown
Ammara brown might be making all the headline a Zimbabwe’s new found Pop sensation, but the truth is she is far from popping at all.
She owes the popularity she has amassed from the collaborations she did, mainly Mukoko with Tytan, Kure Kure with Jah Prayzah and lately Bhachura video with Ex Q.
On her own Ammara has not even a single song that we know. Two more shows of that magnitude and she risks the ire of the fan as they will realise that they bought a false dream and got overcharged in the process.
The only thing that’s attracting fans to her at the moment is her perfect Star image
Ammara either needs a hit song on her own or a songwriter.
4. Killer T killed all the excitement
To say that Killer T performed will be stretching it. He did absolutely nothing.
The dancehall star must have sung all of his songs in just under 100 seconds.
he would get into the song and as soon as people started enjoying it, he wold shout ‘Dj next tune’
Like for the why, though? The result is that he killed the fun and people started walking out in utter disgust and disappointment.
But Delta still has faith in local artists as their marketing manager says they will continue giving local talent exposure
Said Patricia Murambinda: “As an organisation, we have always worked well with local artists and have given them the platform in various events to showcase their talents.”
5.We have some of the best music spinners in this country
DJ L-Roy took his set early in the afternoon and took reveller down memory lane with a mixture of old school museve, fused with house beats, while DJ Stavo took the turntables late in the night and played a mixture of old skool and new skool hip hop.
All in all, it was a weekend worth to be relieved, besides a few security issues which resulted in some reveller breaking down the security wall.

I very rarely listen to new school hip hop but hai this track is in my head so allow me to spoil your head as well. The track is by Marcus Mafia featuring King Aktive ,Kikky Bad Ass and Schingy.
Marcus Mafia
You know Marcus , Legacy is ? dreads? Always at the very hot hip hop functions? Yes Him.
The song is Catchy with those so simple they blow you mind. Marcus doesn’t rap on the song , he pulls a Khaled by bringing the crew on one set ( Basement and 1+1 couches)
I really don’t want to give anything away so I’m going to just give you my favourite lines ( either cause they are funny or outrageously lame that they work) .
The Artists kept to the fashionable Army green and camouflage trend, with changes into Black and leather. Kikky Badass Looked fine in that Body hugging dress and Gushungove Hip Hop Looked like the Marquis of Madness in his Top Hat and sceptre.
There’s also a cameo appearance at the end by Zimboy.
Side Note * The girl in the black dress with blonde curls seemed lost and Unsure, and who’s the cute white boy Marcus?

Cindy has released her latest video Mubvunzo in a deep soul wrenching plea to God about Love with so many Questions.
We are assuming that the guy from Dai still hasn’t got the clue. Her Question to God is who Can sell , Loan her some Love. She has tried everything apparently from reading Cosmopolitan we are guessing even internet dating for that long lasting Love and Dololo and now only God can help her out.
Cindy Munyavi
The video set switches between Cindy in an abandoned graffiti house , perhaps symbolising how empty she feels inside without Love . The art inside the house is nice with hearts , love and the name Cindy featuring on the walls.
Cindy herself stands out in this video as one would expect her to look casual , but this is Cindy we are talking about . she looks resplendent in a green Lace number cinched at the waist with a gold belt and Pink hair.
The second scene is the one which heavily features the theme of looking for love as Cindy does a love treasure hunt of some sort by looking for items left behind by the mysterious Dark man in the woods ( NO it’s not a serial Jason like Killer).
She finds a Bow Tie , Perfume , a shirt and for a moment I got worried that she might be dealing with a pervert but the next clue is a small calabash .
Finally, Cindy finds the now chest-barring man and offers him water in the calabash (Clever man) and quenches his thirst.
Did we mention that Cindy does all of this Wood walking and stalking in the most DIVINE DRESS EVER.
No words that I am allowed to write on this platform are enough to describe this dress you need to see that dress , its alluring and suggestive. But don’t take my word for It watch the Video !!
Oh and clearly God answers Prayers cause Cindy got herself a Man …
Tafadzwa Mapako’s memory still refuses to sink into oblivion, following her highly publicised divorce from the sungura ace, the lady has bounced back, this time over Meat and a Chair.
Alick Macheso and ex-wife Tafadzwa Mapako
Yesterday Tafadzwa appeared in court facing allegations of hitting a reveller with a beer bottle at the Castle Lager Biggest Braai Festival in Harare on Saturday.
She is denying the charges.
Tafadzwa told the court that the complainant, Talent Munyanyi, had provoked her by fondling her.
The allegations are that on Saturday, October 29 at around 7pm, Munyanyi was partying with his friends at the Castle Biggest Braai Festival after which Tafadzwa Mapako approached Munyanyi and his friends demanding “her chair” back.
She allegedly grabbed meat from Munyanyi and company and threatened to throw it away.
A heated exchange ensued, during which Mapako allegedly picked up an empty beer bottle and struck Munyanyi once below the left eye.
