Did Jnr Brown slap Cal_Vin at the NAMA Awards?

Award winning rapper Cal_Vin was allegedly attacked by Jnr Brown during his rehearsal for the NAMA performance on Saturday at the 7 Arts Theatre.

In an interview with Zimbuzz, Cal_Vin confirmed that Jnr Brown had attacked him.

“I was bullied by J Breezy (Jnr Brown) and his crew nothing more to it,” he said.

Asked whether it was also true that Jnr Brown slapped him in the face and his spectacles fell off, Calvin said

“Yes, I was.”

However, Jnr Brown’s producer Begotten Sun categorically denied the claims saying it was just cheap publicity that Calvin was looking for.

He told Zimbuzz:

“Unless you are telling me that Jnr Brown has a double, I was with Jnr Brown during the time of the alleged attack,” he said.

“Actually, Jnr Brown was at ZiFM, he does not do violence,” he added.

“If it’s true that he was attacked why didn’t he make a Police report,” he quizzed.

Zimbuzz also posed the same question to Calvin and he said:

“No I ddnt because that’s not what I wish for him or anyone in the culture of Hip Hop, its bad for business having a police record, all I want is to see the culture moving forward not backwards.”

Calvin scoffed at the news that Jnr Brown was denying the alleged attack.

The rapper was also charged at by Briss Mbada at the Hip-Hop Awards, where he latter felt he deserved the Best male Award.

Meanwhile, on Friday Calvin had an interview on The Fixx on ZiFm where he said that he had no beef with Jnr Brown.

In the interview, he also said he was willing to work with his rival to further the Hip Hop movement.

He revealed that he had sent Jnr Brown a message asking him why he was disrespecting his winning of the Song of the Year at the Zim Hip Hop Awards in December.

However the Show host MC Chita maintained that Calvin was reacting to an imaginary attack since Jnr Brown never directly mentioned his name in his alleged diss track.

Chinoz sets kissing record

We have an African Record for the longest kiss in Africa and it was set by none other than Cde Joseph Chinotimba.

The Buhera South legislator Cde Joseph Chinotimba and his wife Vimbai set a record of 10:17:75

The couple managed to observe the rules which were very stringent

The event which was held on Valentine’s Day at the Rainbow Towers saw two other couples entering but their record was smashed by the Honourable.

Although we had hoped for many couples to enter the competition, only a few turned up.

Here are the pictures of the comrade in action

Jnr Brown,Cal_Vin square off again..in a non beef contest

After making so much noise over the past two weeks about #Who Runs the rap game, Jnr Brown and Cal_Vin will face off again as they release their singles Real Talk/Tongogara and Picture Perfect respectively.

By Sindiso Dube

The two have been tangled in a musical feud after the Madrinks hit maker dropped We Run it which saw Bulawayo rapper Cal_Vin replying with Used to Run.

We won’t waste time on who won the battle and we don’t want another rivalry of such nature, artists should start making music for the fans’ ear.

Jnr Brown’s Tongogora was premiered yesterday on Power FM sounding good with an acoustic flair. It talks about real life issues affecting the everyday people.

It also dropped on ZiFm this morning on the Ignition Show.

A collage of Jnr Brown and Cal_Vin's single releases
A collage of Jnr Brown and Cal_Vin’s single releases

Jnr Brown raps about child abuse, teenage pregnancies, broken families, corruption, alcohol abuse, capitalism and rising up against all these as youths.

On the other hand, Cal_Vin will make use of the month of love to release Picture Perfect, the track talks about a couple with reference to his own relationship with his girlfriend…. Let’s not spoil the surprise by getting much into detail.

Now Read: 3 Women we would love to see in the longest Kiss in Africa

His track also drops tomorrow on ZiFm’s The Fixx where he will also give out an interview.

It’s high time Zim Hip-hop start talking sense to people, not the bragging and imaginary lifestyle they portray on their songs whose relevance barely last a year.

The writer (Sindiso Dube) is a reporter with News Day and The Standard. Best print journalist @ Zim hip-hop Awards 2014.
